Hi, Currently the ESXi host is in unresponsive status where vpxa and hostd services are not responding. As, ESXi host is not responding, its difficult to migrate the VM's from Existing ESXi host to other ESXi host as vpxa agent unable to communicate to vCenter server. 1) One way to restart the management services of ESXi host ( vpxa & hostd services). As you said you don't want to go for that. 2) Other way is to reboot the ESXi host where HA will restart all the VMs to other available ESXi host. (Subject to availability of resources on other hosts) 3) Last option, you can login to ESXi host individually and poweroff all the VM's and unregister them from existing ESXi host to and re-register to other vCenter manageable ESXi host in the cluster. -Sachin

Hi, In your case where you don't want to migrate specific VM's to other ESXi and want them to stay on one ESXi host. Here you require to add required VMs into DRS rules ( Affinity and anti-afinity rules) where DRS need to be enabled at Cluster level. Please follow below link to apply them on requested VM's https://pubs.vmware.com/vcd-810/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vcloud.users.doc_810%2FGUID-103BE81A-0762-45C6-915D-19B2B75DEE05.html https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2003128 -Sachin

Hi, I don't find it as a crash. Its basically ask when you are try to open or access any application which require flash player but (flash player)unable to get require space into system memory which is 100kb. To get required space, its asking for required space on your local machine save some information which is required by flash player. For more information please refer below link: Adobe - Flash Player : Help - Local storage pop-up question -Sachin

Hi, Well its basically happens when you have snapshot created on Virtual machine. Sometime snapshot manager wont show the actual status of the snapshot. To be sure, you can either browse the datastore where the VM is located to see if you have any drives which states of 0000.vmdk. , if yes, then create an another snapshot and then perform delete all option or consolidate the snapshot. once the snapshot's are deleted then you are good to go to extend the HDD you would like to. -Sachin

Hi, As you said you have 3 nic of 1 GB and as per my understanding your plan is to convert all 1 G nic card to 10 GB. As per your action plan you will migrate all the VM from one of the host where you were planning to perform activity to other ESXi host keeping into maintainace mode. Later you will remove old nic and add 10 GB nic to them and configure required networking. Now, once you have added required hardware. You have to configure appropriate standard switch on that ESXi host. Later its up to you if you want to add this host to VDS or remain of VSS. If you want to migrate the VM which are running on ESXi host configured with VDS to VSS, then there you may face issue as during vmotion because during migration host try to detect same port on source and destination. Its always recommended to have all the host into same networking. Either its needed to be vss or vds. As all the host into the cluster are in vds , then its recommended to add this host to vds and try to migrate the vm from one place to another. -Sachin

Hi, Well, its mostly seen in VCSA6.0 (vCenter appliance) Resolution is to check the status of VMware vCenter Workflow Manager Services on VCSA First verify the disk size by using df -vh and see if there any disk which is about to 100% Most of the time disk is full at /storage/log. Try to clear the space and then try to start the workflow service by using below steps. Please find below steps to follow 1) Login to VCSA via Putty. 2) shell.set --enabled True 3) service-control --status vmware-vpx-workflow 4) If its showing stop. Start the same by below command service-control --start vmware-vpx-workflow. Now try to power on the vm from vCenter. -Sachin

Hi, Please specify which network adapter you were using while adding a nic into virtual machine. Is it E1000, vmxnet or vmxnet3 Try uninstall the vmware tools and see if you are able to add the network driver and if its shows E1000. or add the NIC with E1000 driver and then test the connectivity. -Sachin

Hi, If you completely want to migrate only data from one VM disk to another and dont want to disconnect all the secondary disk. You can use use 3rd party utility like robocopy etc. Or if you don't want the secondary disk of VM1 and want all its secondary drive to VM2. You can remove the all the secondary disks from VM1 and connect all those drives as secondary drive on other VM. Do, let me know if you have any further queries. -Sachin

Hi, You can create alarm at vCenter level under alarm tab, under definition tab by creating a new Alarm. Please use the VOID (_esx.problem.ntpd.clock.correction.error) you should be using to set the alarm. However in order for the alarm to get triggered, there should be a VMkernel Observation (VOB) getting triggered and it will only get triggered if the NTP is unable to correct the time of the ESXi host and due to which the NTP deamon stops. Set Alarm type = host Trigger field enter esx.problem.clock.correction.error -Sachin
