The baseline has always showed the 5.5 patches, I'm not sure why this one does not after scan. I just added the patches manually and created a new baseline for them.
The hosts on 6.0 are showing the 6.0 patches but the ones on 5.5 are not showing any available on scan.

Good morning. So we have a Lenovo RD630 with Sandy Bridge Processors (E2640), and we're looking at getting another server with either Ivy Bridge or Haswell processors (E2640-v2 and E2640-v3 respectively.) My question is, if we go with the Haswell, will we need EVC or will they Vmotion without it? What about Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge? Will those VMotion without EVC?  Any input is appreciated.

Hi André, This is the network engineer responding with Brad's account. The 'switchport access vlan 99' is not doing anything since the port is configured as a trunk, that's left over from the initial config when the ESXi box was originally IP'd and connected to the switch.  In this case, all uplinks are trunked (native VLAN is 1) and that's why we have the vSwitches tagged (except for the default).  I agree that the speed/duplex should never be manually configured, I'll have to see when that got changed.  Thanks for your help, we'll work to get this resolved with your info.

Andre, I found this information online about using Switchport Access VLAN and Switchport mode  Trunk at the same time regarding the switch port on that host which is in this config: interface GigabitEthernet5/35 description ESXi2 #2 switchport access vlan 99 switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,20,30,40,50,99 switchport mode trunk switchport nonegotiate spanning-tree portfast trunk spanning-tree bpduguard enable end cisco - Switchport mode access VLAN & switchport mode trunk on one interface - Network Engineering Stack Exchang… "No this isn't doing anything. When the port is in trunk mode, then any "switchport access" statements are not used. The same is true with a port in access mode with any "switchport trunk" statements." Therefore, the VLAN tagging in the host shouldn't affect anything if the switch is disregarding the switchport access VLAN99 in the config. I also checked the other cluster setup and all the other VLANS are tagged in the vswitches and the physical switch ports are setup without switchport access VLAN, just switchport mode trunk, like this. interface GigabitEthernet4/41 description ESXi #2 VMs switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,20,50,99 switchport mode trunk switchport nonegotiate speed 1000 duplex full end So that being said, I'm not sure what do do at this point, I'm waiting on the network engineer to get in touch with me. That worked, thank you for hanging in there with me.
Copying it to the desktop and running as administrator yields the same results on any server that's 2012R2.
Disaster averted on original server, I got the GUI reinstalled. Reinstalled .net 3.51, Same error. This doesn't work.
Second server, same results. I don't have a support contract so I can't work this out with VMWare.
Downloaded it twice now, same result. This is a brand new, fresh server. Checksum matches from VMWare's site. Unfortunately now after removing .net 3.51, the server is now booting into CORE mode... See more...
Downloaded it twice now, same result. This is a brand new, fresh server. Checksum matches from VMWare's site. Unfortunately now after removing .net 3.51, the server is now booting into CORE mode with no GUI so I'm trying to fix that. I'm in the process of restoring .net 4 and the GUI now.
All the NICS are set to FLEXIBLE. OK I am an idiot. Connect at power on was not checked...easiest fix ever. But they are still flexible, should I change them to VMXNET3
Does not work. Same exact error. 5.5 Update 1c
EDIT...Misread your post...I'm downloading the latest one now.
The VMs are coming up default DISCONNECTED.
I'm downloading this, Although I think this is what I already extracted the update manager from. I'm going to try again?

You know what the most stupid thing IN THE ENTIRE WORLD IS? You cannot manage VM Settings with the Client anymore on Version 10 or above machines. So thanks VMWare. I wasn't able to get to the VSphere Web Client for whatever reason, and I had a NIC card DISCONNECTED on an important server at host bootup with no way to turn the NIC on in the hard client. Ridiculous.
