Pleasure! Correct...if it is a new installation of vCOPs you need to wait at least 2 weeks for VCOPs to "settle" in and learn what is normal in your environment.

Workload is based on the Demand for resources. Network IO that you see there is not the actual usage based on the pnic speed and usage but the Demand for Network Resources on the Host/VM/Cluster. The Demand for Network resources is simplistically calculates the way I explained above. So you are not seeing usage of the Nic but the demand for network resource on the Nic as a percentage.

Hi, CPU Limited = http://www.virtualclouds.co.za/?p=526 (At the bottom of the page) CPU Contention = This look at the pCPU Contention...thus how long the scheduler had to stop VM's so that other VM's could run due to not enough pCPU cores being available (Something like that:-) ) Disk Demand = in general the Demand metric is made up of diff other metric's...more than that I cannot remember Network IO Usage = How much Kbps the vNic is using. Hope that helps Hugo Strydom www.virtualclouds.co.za

Hi Chris, The Collector collects two values of each metric every 5min...and avg and a max value for the metric. It is this max value that is used to set the 100% of the Network Util. Example: Lets say a max value of 200 is collected. Thus if the next avg is 50 then the util is 25% (50 is 25% of 200) Let say the next avg value collected is 300. Then the Util will be 150% and the new max value is set to 300. Next collection the avg is 50 again...so now the util is 16.6% The same for disk IO is valid. Hugo Strydom www.virtualclouds.co.za

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I am using 5.7.1, it was a new deployment. In the Custom UI the HTTP Adaptor is showing "blue" which mean it does not show any health.. I am expecting it to show Green. Can you confirm it must be "green" ? From within vC Ops I can launch in context...works well ! Thanks for the help !

Hi, I have added my VCOPS server and I can from vCOPS Click on "actions-> search in vlog insight"..that is working well so I think the adaptor is configured correctly. Now the issues is when I setup an alert in vCenter Log and set source as a VM critial...I dont see the VM getting a fault or change status. 1. Does the Aelrting work to vCOPS in the beta ? 2. If yes guide to setup ? I have ensured my Time settings and zones are all the same in vCOPS and vCenter Log Insight. Hugo
