Hi Guys and Gals, Please first of accept my apologies for maybe some missing logs in this post however I am new to working with VMWare Lifecycle Manager and tis many features. I have two ESXi 6.5 hosts managed by my vCenter 7.0.3 server. I am currently trying to run a remote upgrade form ESXi 6.5 to 7.0.3.  I have imported the 7.0.3 ISO File to the Lifecycle Manager and then created and attached a baseline to the desired host. I then run the "check compliance" however this fails with error "  There are errors during the scan operation. Check the events and log files for details. ". I have checked the logs file "/var/log/vmware/vmware-updatemgr/vum-server/vmware-vum-server.log" but I can't see anything obvious within these logs that reports an error. I am going to download the logs so I can attach them to the forum post. I have checked that port 80 and 443 are open between the ESXi Host and the VC Server which both are and I can confirm communication between them both.  Is this something that anyone has seen in the past and what was the cause? If anyone has any suggestions on any other logs I should be looking at then please could you let me know and I will have a read + post them here. Any guidance would be appreciated. Regards,

Hi Guys, I have been working on this issue for a while and I have managed to resolve the issue myself.  For our reverse proxy we were using Squid 4.x which turns out doesn't handle WSS very well. We tried a few suggestions we had found online that we thought might help however the on feature that should resolve the issue is not implemented in Squid 4.x but is present in squid 5.x. We decided for testing we would switch over to HAProxy and test this for a while and see if this resolved the issue.  Out of the box with very basic configuration this worked flawlessly and we are now able to access the vCenter Server Web Console for VM control remotely with no issues. At this stage we are not able to get the vmrc working however that is currently not important to us.  Before anyone says it I know exposing vCenter Server directly to internet is not best practice however we do have this locked down to select IP's.  I hope that this information helps someone else out. Regards, Tom
Hi, So I am talking about using the vCenter Web Console to connect to a VM. I have attached a screen shot to this post to help.

Hi Guys, Apologies if this is a bit of a silly question, however I have been having some issues with vCenter 7.0 and connecting to VM's remotely.  I have configured vCenter Server behind a squid reverse proxy, every time a try to connect to a VM Console I immediately get the following error "The console has been disconnected. Close this window and re-launch the console to reconnect".  If I attempt the same connection on the internal LAN it works perfectly fine. I have also tried putting the VC Server directly on the internet (with strict source IP Control) but this didn't seam to resolve the issue. Does anyone know of logs (and there locations) that I can look at that might give me an insight into what is going on here and or a way of me getting around this issue? Any help would be appreciated, I have already had a look around the internet (googled) and I haven't found anything that has resolved my issue. I have seen a nigx solution however at this stage I'm trying to avoid setting up another machine on our network. Regards,

Hi All, I hope everyone in the community is keeping safe during these changing times. I am currently experiencing an issue with my VCenter Server 7.0 that I have deploy in my Environment. I am attempting to change the Machine_Cert with one that is signed by my internal certificate auth. Every time I attempt to change the certificate I get the following error 'Error occurred while fetching tls: Exception found (Invalid input certificate : DNS in Subject Alternative Name is not correct. DNS Name must contain machine FQDN.). I have made sure that I am including the vcenter server hostname in the Subject Alternative Name so should all be working as expected. CN = 172.16.0.30 Subject Alternatives that are included DNS = vcserver.domain.local DNS = vcserver When I run the following command I get the output of 172.26.0.30 from my server. 'root@vcserver [ ~ ]# /usr/lib/vmware-vmafd/bin/vmafd-cli get-pnid --server-name localhost'     172.26.0.30 I have also compared the currently used Subject Alternatives to what is in my new certificate and these are the same. Has anyone seen this issue before or able to help out with fixing the issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards, Tom

Hi Guys, I wont to experiment with Direct Hardware Pass-through n ESXi. My Motherboard supports Intel VT-d and Intel VT-x and both features are enabled in the BIOS. When I have a look at the hardware that is available to be used for Pass-Through some items show as they can be Passed-Through but are Grayed out (example NVIDA GTX 610 in Screen Print below). One thing that I have noticed is that it says the PCI X16 Slot doesn't support Pass-Through. I'm guessing as this is what I'm setting that the GPU Plugged into the PCI X16 Slot wont be able to be used. If this is the case this is strange as it says the NVIDIA GT110 HDMI Audio Controller can be passed. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this or if there is anything I can do to get this working? I am in the future looking at getting something like a ASUS WS Motherboard for an actual build using VMWare and ESXi to run 2 or maybe more VM's using Hardware Pass-Through. Regards,
