We are thinking to migrate following VMware SDDC components/VMs to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We want to know if this is compatible approach to host VMware appliances/VMs in to the GCP. - vRealize Automation Center  Appliances 7.3.1 - DEM workers - Model Manager Data/ WEB - vSphere Proxy agents - vRealize Manager server - The Iaas database server (SQL 2012) - vRealize Log Insight manager - vCloud usage meter - vRealize Operations Manager  6.6.1 & its remote collectors - vRealize Hyperic manager - VMware NSX Manager 6.3.7 - Platform service controller - vRealize Orchestrator 7.3.1 - Site Recovery manager 6.5 If the answer to the compatibility question is 'Yes' then how do we approach this?   If the answer is 'NO' then what are the high level reasons.

Can we restrict users from expanding system drive (default volume) of virtual machine in vRA 6.2? Currently it is allowing expansion of default drive from vRA portal. We want to restrict users from expanding system drive, I tried using custom property "VirtualMachine.Disk0.Size" but this cannot be used as custom property in blueprint. Is there any other way that we could achieve this?

I have reconfigured VM from vCAC portal to increase memory. When I look at virtual machine in vCenter the memory is increased as requested but the virtual machine status in vCAC portal shows "On (Reconfiguring)". Because of this status cannot perform any additional actions on the VMs. Any one have any idea how to get rid of this status of VM in vCAC?

I have vRealize automation center 6.2.2 environment where customer has deployed many VMs from portal. One of requirement from customer is they wanted to change IP (different VLAN) address of already deployed virtual machine. Question 1. Is Network changes possible from vRealize Portal? Question 2. If we change VLAN and IP address manually in vCenter, how to publish that IP address back to vRealize portal ( to avoid any future deployment taking same IP address)?

I mean no error logs at - Infrastructure - > Monitoring. Got iaas installer from Iaas install tab on vCAC appliance, ran that installer , completed all the per-requisites and proceeded the installation. Not used official pre-req scripts but fulfilled all the per-requisites that were shown during installation by installer.

But iaas server installation and configuration was successful and it didn't give any error in log. I have tried complete setup thrice and wondering what I am missing and if missing anything then it should be tracked in logs Or installation should fail. I am able to logon to https://vcac_fqdn/shell-ui-app/ with default administrator credentials.
I can see in vCAC appliance that 21 services are registered whereas the status of  'iaas-service' is blank mean there is nothing in status column in front of the service.
I have not used "Import PEM encoded Certificate option". I have generated self signed certificates using "Generate Self Signed Certificate" option. on both the appliances Identity and vCAC.

Hi Sui and BryanHalter, Thanks for the reply. This is test environment and I am not doing upgrade from vCAC 6.0 to 6.1. This setup is completely new that I am doing with vCAC 6.1. Tried doing setup thrice with this release of vCAC but every time receiving same error. I have replaced self signed certificates on Identity and vCAC appliance. Please note, I have not received a single error during installation and configuration of vCAC and its components. Thanks.

Hi, I am facing same issue even. The vCAC 6.1 is all setup with no errors during setup or configuration. But while requesting a machine from catalog its giving a same error as above and same logs inside catalina.out. Please help me out as this is really difficult to diagnose and find root cause of issue. I am guessing this is something bug ib new version of vCAC 6.1 as I have not seen such issues in earlier version of vCAC 6.0

The log viewer within vCAC Administrator says "Error requesting machine. Inner Exception: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Base Exception: Failed to validate machine name". I have not done any modifications to ManagerService.exe.config file. When I give machine count 1 it gives above error but if I give 2,3 etc ..it gives me message "Request submitted. You will receive an e-mail when your request has been processed. Thank you." but I dint see anything is happening at vCAC end or at vCenter.

Hi, I have done vCAC 5.2 setup and configured vSphere (vCenter) endpoint on it. I have created Enterprise groups, Provisioning groups, reservations, machine prefix...etc and all I have is working configuration. I have created vSphere blueprint from the template in vCenter and done all the needed configuration inside template. But now, the issue is when I request machine using self service from  already created vSphere blueprint it gives me error " Unable to complete the requested operation: Error requesting machine. Failed to validate machine name". The log viewer is having info like this: "Error requesting machine. Inner Exception: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Base Exception: Failed to validate machine name". I have been troubleshooting this issue since long and could not find any related information anywhere on internet.I am attaching error screenshot here. Please help me getting out of this issue, your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
