Hi Guys, Need your help regarding, HBA log issue. Few days ago, we had a disaster, one of the SAM fabric went down. Some VMs were affected. According to the SAM team, not all paths went down. So I need to find which paths were live at that moment. how can i get those information. From the vmkernel log, I found LUN disconnection for 2 HBA. but I need to check which HBAs were alive at that moment. Is it possible to ginf HBAs disconnection log for a timestamp. If yes how? Dear All, having a problem with distributed switch. I have 4 host in my cluster, VMs are deployed in cluster, VMotion, Management and other data traffic are running smoothly. But when when a VM migrated from host1 to host4, I can not ping that VM. Where as other VM with same IP configuration running on host4, can be ping. Finally I found something abnormal in my dVswitch. Hello friends, Can anyone please help me out from this problem. I can not create datastore from visible LUN. ESXi version is 5.1 The error I am getting is “Call "HostDatastoreSystem.CreateVmfsDatastore" for object "ha-datastoresystem" on ESXi "XxXxx" failed. Operation failed, diagnostics report:  Unable to create Filesystem, please see VMkernel log for more details: Function not implemented” I have tried with several procedure but still getting the same error. Listed below my procedure dd to clear partition tables on the san disks from ESXi console partedutil to remove and clear disk partition tables (GPT to MS-DOS) on the san disks from ESXi console. disable VT-d from server BIOS disable storage hardware acceleration from advance settings Install customized ESXi for HP Apply ESXi latest Patch on the System (1881737) To test SAN storage, we install Redhat Linux test basis and visible LUNs and able to create ext4 file systems. Dear All, I am new bee in VMware world. recently completed VCP-5. While stuyding I tried to compare VMware HA with other HA solution like HP has SG and IBM has HACMP also Redhat has own cluster suite. We can implement VMware HA/FT within my VM's. At the same time we can alos use othe HA solution. Why we will use other solution where as VMware has their own HA/FT? Yes, all vendors has their own special technology. Which is suitable incase of VMware solution? Should we go for other solution or we will choose VMware HA/FT? Please advice. Thanks in advanced.

Dear All, Yesterday, I faced an issure. That is, I created a VM on ESXi 5.1 and the OS is RHEL 6.2. OS was working fine. Suddenly I have removed NIC from that OS. and added new one. But I am not getting the NIC from OS. Hope someone faced this issue. Need your suggestion. Regards, Shyfur
