Hello, we need a separate broadcast domain in our local network. To do so I need to have a dedicated network interface on my Windows Server 2016 DHCP-Server. Not sure which way is best to realize it. My idea is to add a new portgroup to my existing vSwitch and then add a free network interface to the portgroup. VLAN ID is 100. When configuring VLAN ID, VLAN is tagged or untagged? Kind regards, Roland

Hello, on one vSphere 5.5 host we have several alarms regarding VM total disk latency like the following: warning 30.08.2016 09:06:08 Datastore Highest Latency" (63.0 Milliseconds) is above a defined threshold (50.0 Milliseconds) Warning 24.08.2016 09:12:54 Datastore Highest Latency" (65.0 Milliseconds) is above a defined threshold (50.0 Milliseconds) After a short time Alarm metrics come back to normal. Should we consider relocation these VMs to another datastore very soon? Kind regards, Roland

is your related vSphere Host on the lasted patch level? Are you running a backup api on your host? In vSphere 5.5 GA Version there were issues with backup api that are fixed in later releases. Ask your IT-Administrator if you feel unsure. Kind regards, Roland

try to boot from the Windows Server 2003 CD/DVD und start the recovery console [1]. Once recovery console is up press R to try to repair your Windows Server 2003 operating system. Before running recovery console first make a copy of your virtual hard disk (*.vmdk) in vSphere datastore or download it to your local PC to be on the safe side. As an alternative you can try to create a new VM and instead of creating a new virtual hard drive add your existing *.vmdk harddrive of your Windows Server 2003 OS and see if it boots as it should.
