Hi kawasakit77, welcoem to the community .  The process called ESXi Dump Collector  For that please follw below steps.       Install the ESXi Dump Collector service on the vCenter Server system or a Windows or Linux system of your choice. ESXi Dump Collector is one of the services you can install using the vCenter Server system installation package. See vSphere Installation and Setup. If you use the vCenter Server on Linux appliance, ESXi Dump Collector is preinstalled. 2       Set up ESXi systems that should use ESXi Dump Collector with commands in the esxcli system coredump namespace. Two namespaces are supported inside this namespace. ■       esxcli system coredump partition ■       get: Retrieve one of the dump partition values. ■       list: List all partitions on the system that have a partition type matching the VMware Core partition type. ■       set: Set the core dump partition for this system. ■       esxcli system coredump network ■       get: Get the currently configure parameters for ESXi Dump Collector (network coredump), if enabled. ■       set: Set the parameters used for network coredump. The following example sets up the network and enables ESXi Dump Collector with the ESXCLI vCLI command. esxcli --server MyESXiHost system coredump network set --interface-name vmk0 --server-ipv4 10XX... --port 6500 esxcli --server MyESXiHost system coredump network get --enable true --type network "You are stronger than you think"

Hi ewhite20 , To get an independent copy you can copy the virtual machine directory or do a Full Clone from the VMware interface. I'd recommend using Clone rather than copy for the reasons below.  If you copy you will get the VM with all the snapshots you currently have. If you do a Full Clone you will just get the state you pick which will make the copy smaller than the original. Even if you don't have any snapshots doing a Full Clone can create a smaller copy so it's usually best to do this.  If you copy the files when you next start the VM you will get a message asking if you Moved or Copied the VM. If you answer "Copied" VMware will change the MAC addresses of the virtual network cards. If you select Full Clone the MAC address will always be changed without asking. Hi imclaren , To check for Service Console-based locks on non-ESXi servers, run the command:  lsof | grep  COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME like -71fd60b6- 3631 root 4r REG 0,9 10737418240 23533  Note: If there is no Service Console process locking the file, you should receive no printed output. If you receive any results, however, file a Support Request to not only identify the process, but also to determine root-cause. "You are stronger than you think"

Hi ChintanWaghma…, Welcome to the community. Have you follwed below steps .If not could you please do that .       Ensure that you have a good backup of the database. Do not skip this step.     Shutdown the VMware VirtualCenter Server service and any other services (such as VMware VDI or VMware Lab Manager) that use the database.      Note: Ensure that you have a recent backup of the vCenter database before continuing. Do not skip this step.      Truncate the table VPX_HIST_STAT1 table and corresponding VPX_SAMPLE_TIME1 table. Once the truncate has completed verify if the the rollup jobs are now completing successfully. See step 4 for further deatils..      Warning: The truncate function is destructive. VMware highly recommends that a Database Administrator perform this step.      truncate table VPX_HIST_STAT1;     truncate table VPX_SAMPLE_TIME1;      If the rollup jobs do not complete successfully you may need to truncate the next table VPX_HIST_STAT2 table and corresponding VPX_SAMPLE_TIME2 table      Continue truncating the VPX_HIST_STAT[1-4] tables and corresponding VPX_SAMPLE_TIME[1-4] tables until the rollup jobs are completing successfully.      Note: The following are additional tables in vCenter Server 4.1 and 5.0 which can also be truncated to further reduce the vCenter server Database size. These tables get populated with data from VPX_HIST_STAT1      truncate table VPX_TEMPTABLE0;     truncate table VPX_TEMPTABLE1;     truncate table VPX_TEMPTABLE2;      Run the rollup scripts, using the following steps.      (a)  Using SQL Management Studio, connect to the SQL database for vCenter Server.     (b)  Navigate to SQL Server Agent > Jobs     (c)  Select the individual rollup jobs > right-click and select Start Job at Step.      Start the VMware VirtualCenter Server service and any other service service that you stopped in step 2.       p> "You are stronger than you think"

Hi EXPRESS , Assuming that you are using linux I am suggesting below steps.  You need to use Windows system to manage your VMware ESX server. However, it does provides vSphere Web Access which allows you to organize and share virtual machines using web browser.  You can fix this problem as follows.  Login to your vmware server as root user.  Type the following command to turn on the service: # chkconfig vmware-webAccess on # service vmware-webAccess start  Now login as root to your server: nce logged in you can setup guest operating systems, start and stop vms and so on. This can be done using any browser under Linux / OS X or Windows operating systems: Alternatively, you can use MS-Windows vSphere client to start and stop vSphere web access services without using shell prompt. Hi phetertheo, Welcome to the community.  Could you please follow below steps :-  Open a ESXi Shell console session where the esxcli command is available, such as the vCLI or on the host directly.  Display the existing 5 configuration options on the host using the command:  esxcli system syslog config get  Set new host configuration, specifying options to change, using a command similar to:  esxcli system syslog config set --logdir=/path/to/directory/ --loghost=RemoteHostname --logdir-unique=true|false --default-rotate=NNN --default-size=NNN  For example, to configure remote syslog using TCP on port 514:  esxcli system syslog config set --loghost='tcp://10.11.12.13:514'  After making configuration changes, load the new configuration using the command:  esxcli system syslog reload "You are stronger than you think"
