Hi @siva198204  Despite fact that VC version in not supported and you should upgrade it. The vCenter 5.5 is very flexible in terms of upgrades and reinstallation.  The key is to backup VC data base => https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2012138 I'd strongly recommend to take snapshot or backup of existing machine that host VC so you can easily rollback if something will go wrong. You can find more details in old thread here => https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-vCenter-Discussions/Upgrading-vCenter-OS-from-Windows-2008-R2-to-Windows-2012-R2/td-p/1770855 Windows 2016 is not supported for VC 5.5 => https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2091273 I hope that will answer your questions
it's looks strange, all I can say check ISO integrity with checksum maybe is corrupted?
Hi @kerm007  Did you try this KB => https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/57122
@Bilal233 short answer, yes they will run normally so there is nothing to worry

Hi @Bilal233    Legacy   The Legacy support level is between Supported and Deprecated. These guest operating systems are typically no longer supported by the original vendor. As a result, VMware's ability to support this guest operating system is reduced because VMware may not be able to collaborate with the OS vendor to provide the highest level of support.   more details in kb => https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2015161   I hope that will clarify your doubts
@ashilkrishnan good to know  . I didn't use latest version yet but matrix is always first place to check.

I'd recommend check current vcsa appliance if there is enough space to complete upgrade => https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/76563

based on VMware Product Interoperability Matrices this combination is not supported, please check for more details => https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/sim/interop_matrix.php#interop&671=&671= VMware vSphere Replication 8.3 will work only with same version 8.3.1 or 8.3.2, so will be recommended to have same version on both sites or any other combination supported in matrix
just tried latest vcsa => vCenter Server 7.0 update 1a still same issue "Unable to save IP settings.". Anyone know some workaround?
Thanks again TheBobkin

TheBobkin Thanks for answer and great explanation how read cache works I will check with the users if any VM experience performance issue. I guess not and will ask them to disable alert or decrease threshold but I know that they will ask why we have that vrops alert Could help me and tell me how I can encourage them that all is fine with that cluster (they don't have any baseline or never done any test like HCIBench). In sort what other metric in conjunction with low "Read Cache|Hit Rate (%)" would indicate performance issue. Next problem they experience is proactive rebalance that never ends so they are just afraid that vSAN is not working correctly so I need to have good arguments that will encourage them that all is good. Thanks in advance Szafa

Hi All I have 2 identical VxRail clusters and just one (with less workload) I observer low Read Cache Hit Rate one many disk groups (one DG looks worst that others). CONFIGURATION: ========================================================= 4x VxRail nodes P570 Hybrid ver 4.5.400-14097254 External vCenter 6.5 build 14690228 vSAN config Hybrid 4 disk groups (each 1x800GB cache + 5x1.2GB magnetic disks) ========================================================= ISSUE: LOW Read Cache Hit Rate The vSAN health all green expect vSAN disk balance (same other cluster) => ongoing issue VMware recommends to wait and it should balance itself but needs time The other cluster has same configuration, type of workload (even more VM's) and is not experiencing this issue. How I can identify what is causing this problem? If this is purely related to workload access patter (loads random reads) which I doubt (other cluster is OK) how I can identify those VM's and what I can do to improve reads from cache (example add more strips). VMware didn't give me any answers so far just keep recommending upgrade which is not an option at the moment at least until will get proper RCA. Thanks
Thanks TheBobkin for quick reply, will try it tomorrow

Hi All I have two vCenter in two data centers connected with good WAN link (with network latency < 5ms ). Small environment (300 vm, 10 hosts in each DC and one vSAN data store per DC). Based on https://vropssizer.vmware.com/sizing-wizard/choose-installation I can use even extra small one node setup. Should I add remote collector on other DC to reduce traffic? Maybe I should add collectors on both DC? If I decide to use remote collector I understand that I need to disable quiescing to allow smooth backup of both nodes? Thanks in advance
