This link confirms that the product license is part of VMUG Advantage: https://community.vmug.com/vmug2019/membership/evalexperience I don’t know how license keys for VMUG Advantage work, but it seems to me like you should have access to one for Workstation Pro, presumably there was an email sent to you when you purchased your subscription or you have access to a portal of some kind...
Yes, I have a VMUG Advantage subscription. The link say the license is only good for 30 days. Is there one that good for a year?
Do you already have a VMUG Advantage subscription? Have you already tried downloading the software? https://www.vmware.com/products/workstation-pro/workstation-pro-evaluation.html

My business partner and I run twin servers running vmEsentials. We use Veeam backup and replication (Community Edition)  We have a couple of issues. We are not looking for a company to take over the support of our network. What we need is occasional support by some one who KNOWS what they are doing with vmWare and Veeam. We would prefer some one in the Tampa Florida area so we can meet up in person, however, go to meeting will work. If you are interested, please post back.  Thanks

Hi, Recently, I found there is a warning message in vmkernel.log file about ACPI FADT table length error. I cheched the ACPI specificaiotn version 5.0, the length of FACP is 268 bytes. For ACPI 2.x, 3.x and 4.x, the length is 244 bytes. It looks like VMware does not support ACPI 5.0. But I can't find a tool under ESXi shell which can be used to dump the ACPI talbe like "iasl" tool in linux. the "/proc" node has been removed in ESXi 5.x OS. Does anyone know how to dump the ACPI table under ESXi 5.x? thanks in advance. Bo

Hi A Few monthis ago we did implement VMware in our environment with 2 hosts and an equallogic controller. Most of the machines were migrated across and we had 2 templates for window 2008 R2 setup by the consultant. I started using the templates to deoploy new VM's. I notice that I cannot deploy any VM's from this template as it complains with an error message as shown in the attached word doc. Upon looking closely, I could see from the vmx file of one of the Virtual machines deployed may be sharing this template, It looks like it has some reference to the template.vmdk file, I have copied the whole .VMX file in the word doc. The original template was set with windows 2008 on a 40 GB HDD. The Virtual machine which was deployed was changed to 120 GB HDD. Now seeing at the datastore the deployed VM has a 40GB vmdk file and the template originally used has 120GB. Everything is working fine but I want the deployed VM to be only pointing to the relevant .vmdk file and loose the connection with the template without disrupting my server. what is the best way to do this, I am fairly new to VM environment. Also when I deployed the VM originally,  I Right clicked the relevant template and selected the option "Deploy Virtual machine from this template" I presume that is the option to be used.
I cannot find the homegroup of ''Join Now'' icon i try to click everything but nothing lead to it. Can someone help me please?

Soluzioni alternative? Hi, I'm taking the first steps in virtualization, walk a little 'forced by a request from my superiors. Recently, there has been assigned an offsite office in which we will provide computer support at various levels. To decrease the trips we decided to restructure the office using virtualization. The idea is to have diskless clients that work on pc virtualized servers that can be managed remotely. Having a tight budget I thought about using the pc used, remove the HD from the PC, start the boot-lan loading a minimal linux distro which has as its shell the client to connect to the server. It 'a feasible solution? I have 20 people on two shifts, working on web applied (so little workload) what hardware / software do I need? Workarounds? Any answers, advice, guidance, etc. is greatly appreciated.

It looked corrected the file size of the rdm is what I would expect it to be. I edited one of my VM to add this RDM to and ran in to a problem. When I go to Disk manager I can see the drive but it does not have any size. What do I need to do to see this drive in Windows?
