The Skyline team is pleased to announce new VMware Skyline Collector 3.5 and Advisor Pro releases with VMware Aria Operations for Logs Diagnostic Findings and new proactive Findings. If you have Auto-Upgrade enabled, your Skyline Collector will automatically update.      A summary of the new features is below. For additional details review the Skyline Advisor Pro Release Notes. Log into Skyline Advisor Pro today to see the new enhancements!        New Feature Highlights:      Aria Operations for Logs Diagnostic Findings  Skyline recently added Aria Operations for Logs product support, expanding the list of VMware products Skyline analyzes to keep productive and healthy in your environment. Once you add your Aria Logs endpoints to your Skyline Collector(s), you can view proactive Findings and Recommendations in Skyline Advisor Pro. With this latest release, you can now view Diagnostic Findings in Advisor Pro, based on Aria Operations for Logs queries. Diagnostic Findings alert you to and pinpoint existing issues in your environment based on log data evidence. The Diagnostic Findings complement Proactive Findings, which alert you to potential issues in your environment that have not yet occurred. After you add your Aria Logs endpoints to Skyline, you will notice that the default setting for Diagnostic Findings is disabled. You can enable and/or disable the feature whenever you like. We recommend adding all of your Aria Logs endpoints to keep them safe and productive, and enabling Diagnostic Findings to take advantage of log data analysis. Skyline will prompt you to connect endpoints that are not already connected. Learn more  New Proactive Findings    Several new Proactive Findings have been released, including security vulnerabilities, trending support issues and more. Read more about the new Findings in the blog post.    If you have questions about any of these announcements, please visit the Skyline Community.        Skyline Collectors Below v3.0 EOL: As previously announced, we have begun the End of Life (EOL) process for Skyline Collectors below v3.0. We strongly recommend you upgrade any Collectors below 3.0 to the latest Collector version v3.5, before the October 5, 2023 EOL date, to avoid losing access to Skyline. All of your Collectors must be on v3.0 or above to access Skyline Advisor Pro, which is smarter, easier and 12X faster than Skyline Advisor. Note that customers running Collector v2.1 and below who have not upgraded will no longer see data provided by those Collectors in Skyline Advisor.  As a reminder, VMware supports n-2 versions of the Skyline Collector. Currently versions 3.3 and below are no longer actively supported under General Support. Learn more about upgrading Skyline Collector.
Add allowUnexpectedHost=true to the end of your locked.properties and reboot.
Since this is a new install, I would suggest you first try redeploying the appliance. Also make sure the ova checksum matches what is listed on customerconnect.
Did you passthrough the USB Wifi adapter to your VM? Or share the network with the VM? That should allow you to just use it in your Kali VM.

Hi, Just created myself a simple script to use the 'VMware.Skyline.InsightsApi' PowerShell cmdlet to pull the current findings & affected objects, to create a Jira issue per finding. However got some issues that basically need some new features to fix. Being able to tell if a finding is hidden E.g. vSphere-VCFActivateDRS-KB#81651 (Activate vSphere DRS). We are not licensed for DRS, but everytime I poll for active findings this is being regenerated Being able to tell if a finding has been remdiated E.g. vSphere-NonDefaultports-KB#2039095 (ESXi Host has an open non-default port). This popped up for 1 day and disappeared; there was no way to have my script auto-update the job to close it out Other feature that would be awesome to have (and be able to detect it via the API as well) would be able to tell Skyline to ignore specific VMs for specific findings (as added on in this post - https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Skyline-Community-Discussions/Hiding-individual-VMs-from-Findings-amp-Recommendations/m-p/2906884) Examples vSphere-VMmorethan3snapshots-KB#1025279 (Virtual Machine has more than 3 Snapshots). We have a VM that requires a min of 2 snapshots (1 is for Cisco Hyperflex, so our backup solution can back it up; the 2nd one (and subsequent) is the snapshot used by Citrix for the VDA deployment) vSphere-VMsnapshotover7days-KB#1025279Severity (Virtual Machine has Snapshots older than 7 days) Its the same VM in this one, as the Hyperflex snapshot will always exist its going to be older than 7 days at all times (unless someone stuffs up) Like the findings are good to know, but it would be awesome to tell Skyline to ignore those VMs we are okay with so the issue is created for other VMs (e.g. having it ignore the snapshot issues for our Citrix VDA golden image; but alert us for every other VM).

My clients were getting the error 421 when trying to connect to a connection server after upgrading from 2303 to 2306.  My connection servers use round robin DNS.  To correct the problem I renamed the locked.properties on each server and then in the admin console I enabled Host Redirection and added the main DNS name on each server.  After rebooting everything worked.

Now they activated this, or lets say they deactivated other ways. This solved the problem: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/85801
Interesting...are you using citrix netscaler for your load balancer?  I have never had an issue with Horizon upgrades until 2306. Maybe a bug in the latest release?

Got the same error after upgrading one of my connection servers from 2111 to 2306. Couldn't find any issues on the server and the only thing I could find after searching the error was your post. Ended up restoring both connection servers to a pre-upgrade snapshot. Any luck on your end?
You can unlock it through the Root Master app...

Presumably you mean either the Workstation Player or Workstation Pro product when you say VMware?

Since the issue is most likely not related to Skyline (the community in which you've posted your question - please provide details about your environment (e.g. the Hypervisor: VMware ESXi, Workstation, Fusion), and the VM on which you are trying to use Hyper-V (the VM's latest vmware.log file). After you reply with that information, I will move your question to the appropriate community. André
