Seems like SHD as well as lsdoctor are unable to collect Lookup service data. You follow instructions from KB 2043509 to manually check service status. Mean while we will work on fix, which would available in upcoming SHD release. Thanks Ashish

Hi Penobscot, The GRAY status of report says "Not able to collect lookup service data", it could be because of Lookservice API was unavailable for sometime. I would suggest to perform a log based diagnostics and see if there is any issue detected by SHD. Thanks Ashish

Hi lkrish, From logs we can see there is some self signed certificate in the certificate chain, usually this happens only if there is some MITM proxy configured. www.vmware.com is a public sight you should be able to connect to it over SSL from with in SHD VM. Please try hitting www.vmware.com from within SHD VM using wget or curl and update the results. Execute below command and share the results wget https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php Thanks Ashish  

Hi Ikrish, SHD team has a look on support bundle you shared. As per team, it seems like you are using MITM proxy which is handling SSL termination. You need to update SHD with proxy certificate. Please follow steps documented at Configuration for Proxies acting as MITM (Man-In-The-Middle) Thanks Ashish

Hi lkish, Thanks for sharing SR details, mean while I would suggest you to try one workaround. You need to update /etc/systemd/network/10-static-en.network file and mention DNS search domains, for example. If you DNS server can resolve a.x.local and b.y.local domains, you can mention below line in 10-static-en.network file Domains=a.x.local b.y.local and restart SHD appliance. Please try VCG update again once SHD appliance is restarted and share the results. Thanks Ashish

Hi Ghiacciolo, No vCenter or Cluster is not mandatory. You also deploy SHD OVA on single ESXi. The steps what I mentioned are generic in terms, if you want to deploy on vCenter or ESXi. Thanks Ashish

Hi Ghiacciolo, SHD OVA is for fresh installation, SHD ISO is for only offline upgrades. Please follow steps mentioned at https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Skyline-Health-Diagnostics/services/Skyline-Health-Diagnostics/GUID-77D30292-C085-46C6-B0B1-CF62757DDC7D.html Let me explain installation steps as well. 1) Connect to vCenter/ESXi using Chrome web browser. 2) Authenticate with vCenter/ESXi user credentials. 3) Select cluster or ESXi on which you want to deploy SHD instance. 4) Right click and select Deploy OVF Template 5) Mention OVF URL or upload locally downloaded OVA. 6) In deployment wizard please provide credentials for root and ssd-admin user 7) The password must contain at least 8 characters, have characters from at least 2 classes from Group 1 (lowercase alphabet, uppercase alphabet and numbers) and at least 1 character from the class group 2 (Special Characters) For example "CoolBox@2023" If DHCP is available on selected port group/network leave all network settings blank, else provide static IP, hostname, DNS server, NTP server etc 9) Once OVF/OVA deployment completes power-on the VM and wait for 5 min (for firstboot scripts to configure SHD instance. 10) Connect to SHD instance using browser and VM IP Note: Don't use ISO for anywhere in above steps.
