There was a previous option for that certification to only require to pass a now-retired exam, therefore the only path available now to someone who doesn’t already hold a VCP is to complete training as well as passing the exam.
Minimum is 100 Maximum is 500 Passing score is 300, but that doesn’t equate to 50% or any other % https://blogs.vmware.com/learning/2022/01/06/vmware-certification-insights-how-scaled-scoring-works/

VCTA certifications aren't just the "new name" for what were the VCA certifications, their scope and level of technical detail are also different. I don't personally see much value in buying a VCA book for vSphere 5.

This is the most likely place to find promotions: https://www.vmware.com/learning/training/certification-special-offers-beta-classes.html I doubt you'll ever find no cost options, other than linked complimentary items such as an exam voucher when you attend training. Generally, the lowest cost options for VCPs are when you take training with a VMware IT Academy (if you're paying for it yourself rather than through a company)

Go to this page: https://www.vmware.com/learning/certification.html Select the individual certification that you want to update from the Explore Certifications and Badges section Choose the path which applies to you from the Certification Paths section Review the requirements As an example, to update your VCAP-NV 2021 (I am assuming it is the Deploy version rather than the Design version) you must update your VCP to VCP-NV 2023 AND pass the NSX Advanced Deploy exam.

@Krishangopal1 No, training from Udemy is not authorised in meeting the requirement for a VCP. The training which is authorised is listed on the VMware website, such as: https://www.vmware.com/learning/certification/vcp-dcv.html You always have the option of completing authorised training after passing the exam though.
I’m a retired VCI, I don’t have the latest link. The area of the Communities where you posted is “public” rather than being VCI-only and potentially monitored by the program team.
Are you a VCI working for a VATC, or an instructor working for a VITA? Either way, there are official channels of communication into VMware to get help with matters such as this.

There’s no such thing as VCP 7 or VCP 8, the vSphere VCP is not specific to the version, instead it is specific to the year in which you complete the requirements. The current VCP-DCV is therefore VCP-DCV 2023, and you have the option of taking training on vSphere 7 or vSphere 8, and passing a “Professional” exam on vSphere 7 or vSphere 8 - whatever versions of training and exam you complete you would be a VCP-DCV 2023 if you complete the requirements this year. All the requirement options are listed here: https://www.vmware.com/learning/certification/vcp-dcv.html

1) For as long as it is one of the "No VCP" paths which applies to your situation, you must meet the training requirement for that specific path, which is either the Aria Automation 8.10 training for the 2V0-31.23 exam OR the vRealize Automation 8.3 training for the 2V0-31.21 exam - exactly as stated for the two "No VCP" paths here: https://www.vmware.com/learning/certification/vcp-cma.html 2) No, completing that Spring training on it's own won't give you a certification without also passing an exam such as 2V0-72.22, so it would still be the "No VCP" paths for the CMA which apply to you. Pass the 2V0-72.22 exam to complete the Spring certification and that changes the situation which applies to you.
