Hello experts, I need to get better understanding on how to split networks inside VMware Infra. Is it via NSX DFW? And apply firewall rules (for example the DMZ network that allows connections from the internal networks but not on the other side.. I need an advice in the network architecture definition, network segmentation, networking firewall capabilities, etc. in the VMware cluster that is deployed in Public Cloud like GCP, AWS or Azure? Hi, I tried to deploy nsx-unified-appliance-4.0.1.1.0.20598732.ova successfully. However, at the first go I am able to launch the web GUI but the moment I have entered the username and credentials it turned back to the same error. And when I open the Web Console to login letters randomly go upper case, normally a few upper case characters at a time. This only affects the Web Console, not Remote Console or SSH. Regards PK

Hi Vaibhav, AVS and HCX has been setup successfully. However, as mentioned in my previous comment about the setup. I don't think enabling GlobalReach is required in this scenario as AVS workloads are not communicating with on-premise env post migration to cloud. Could you please suggest? What will be the actual traffic flow during migration via HCX in this setup? Any tips to post configure logical segments in NSX-T on AVS for EW and NS traffic flow? Regards PK

Hi all, I am working on a AVS environment where we are using Network Virtual Appliance in Azure Virtual Network to inspect all network traffic. Please refer to Scenario 2 from the below link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cloud-adoption-framework/scenarios/azure-vmware/example-architectures We need to use HCX for migrate our windows servers from on-premise to Azure Cloud and wanted to know what all prerequisites we need to validate on-premise or on HCX installation before we move forward? Though, we will first try to migrate few test VMs but any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Are there any hair-pinning issues that we might observe on-premise? Regards Pravesh Kaushal

Hi Shashank, I already tried deploying twice but no luck. Am I using the right ISO to deploy? Actually, I first tried to install below image but it won´t gave me the option to select small NSXT manager components. It always ask me to select either medium or large. But, as mentioned this is my testing environment, even medium compute resources are leveraging 24GB of RAM. That is why I moved to NSX-T manager image with vCenter pulgin where I have the option to deploy with small components. Regards Pravesh Kaushal

ESXI and Vcenter version is 6.7 NSX : 4.1 I am able to resolve the hostname and the machine is up and running fine and pingable via IP or hostname from my local machine. However, whenever I tried to launch the GUI it failed as mentioned below. Any help would be appreciated. Regards PK

Hi Vaibhav, Thanks for the response. So, may be for Management and Uplink we can create a separate NP and another for vMotion? Network containers are referred as TZ here, right? How about vSphere replication, do I need to select this option as we are not using DR via HCX. I mean is it always recommended to enable DR service in compute profile? As far as I know, it is always good to opt for HCX Mobility Optimized Networking if we are extending the networks? Regards PK

On which parameters it depends, that how many service mesh, Network container and network extension device per network container we need to choose under standard port group? Are there any prerequisites that we can validate in an environment before deploying HCX? Regards PK

Hi Asajm, Thanks for your reply! I already went through the article but even my query is not answered from the article. Can we install on more than one hosts in the location using this location license, as long as we don’t exceed 25vm? : The answer is yes but not sure is there any limitation for esxi hosts? If I have a company with the same legal entity name, even though on different location in India, it is ok? : The answer is yes but Per Site there is a max. of 25 VMs. Again not sure is there any limitation for esxi hosts? How about if we have a different country and different legal entity name, but it is actually our branch offices, is it allowed as well? Regards PK
