If the task stays there, you can reboot your vCenter server to get it cleared I believe. Also before installing make sure, you've created the A and PTR records for your NSX manager up front.

We deployed NSX 4.0.1 in our environment a couple of months ago but haven't upgraded to 4.1 yet. Mainly because there was nothing in the release that was super compelling for us and because we heavily rely on Terraform for our automation. No issues with 4.0.1 to report though.

If you're trying to do it in NSX then you can define the VLAN tags needed on the segment when you create it. Judging from the question I think this topic was placed in the wrong section and should be under vSphere. Regardless, you need to configure the port group as a trunk port group for this to work. Tagging with tag 4095 will not give you the same results. What is your specific use case for using VGT? IN my experience, it's easier to create a dedicated port group with just 1 tag for specific VM needs.

The eval center is your chance to get a 60 day trial license. However, VMUG advantage offers way more, you get all the licenses for 1 year and on top of that also discounts on certs and training. It's only 200 USD / year but you can pretty much always get a 10% discount code
