We have CDR working as designed, but have a question about how the drives reconnect at user logon.    There are 2 entries that appear under My Computer, one as a drive letter and one just as the shared folder running from hostname of local PC. [from VMware documentation] Is there a way to suppress one of those entries ? Seems like it would be confusing for the end user to have 2 local shares for the same location. thanks.
sorry  I have included in my primary post. Exclusively using Windows 7

AppVolumes 2.12.0 Whenever I create a new Writable Vol & assign to a user, by the 2nd login, the WV becomes corrupted & the user is unable to login.  The only recourse is to delete the WV. I have also noticed after the 1st login, the user's profile doesn't load (a TEMP profile is used) which I would guess ultimately causes the corruption with the WV. All WVs and App stacks are attached on a per user basis.  All VMs are floating & set to refresh after logoff similar symptoms as >> VMware Knowledge Base any thoughts?
Here's a copy of my UEM profile. I get the same error when running from desktop or from the programs folder

Using UEM 9.0 Windows 7/64 I trying to deploy a Shortcut from UEM for a locally installed application.  This application has a number of different environment variable options, as a result UEM is a great solution for this product. here's the issue... When I assign the shortcut, the shortcut itself deploys properly...problem is when I launch the app from the UEM assigned shortcut, I get a PowerBuilder error (yes, the app uses PB). We have other apps that I deploy desktop shortcuts via UEM with no issues. If I create a desktop shortcut in Windows, no issues at all. If I run the EXE from the local drive, no issues at all. I know this error is probably not UEM related, but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else had a similar experience.

thank you for your replies. The sw in question  (IBM CTG) is installed within the AppStack and is installed for ALL USERS.  The service is also typically available for all users.  This issue seems to occur periodically.  Is there anyway that I could add an elevated task within my App Stack that tries to start the IBM CTG Service?   From the couple cases I've seen so far, if I try to manually start the IBM CTG service as an admin the service successfully starts and the application functions as designed. Having the software staged on the GOLD image is really not an option at this point.
Yes, I have.

Appvol 2.12.0 Windows 7/64bit I have an internal PowerBuilder app that I've appstack along with the IBM CICS Transaction Gateway application that is a prerequisite. the IBM CTG product has a Windows service that goes along with it that must be started in order to successfully establish a database connection. We've seen in a couple circumstances where that CTG service is not started (set to Automatic)/ as a result, the user cannot establish a database connection with the app. We have about 10-15 testers on the pool and it appears to be happening randomly.  I'm still gathering data on the occurrences though. Any thoughts?

A number of our users use SAS Enterprise Guide and the SAS EG plugin for Excel. In my UEM configuration, I have listed SEGUIDE.exe AND EXCEL.exe as DirectFlex Executables to import the %appdata%\sas configuration My thought was for those users who use the Excel plugin exclusively, this would save them a bit of time by not having to launch SAS EG first to get their configuration downloaded from UEM Can I have 1 EXE (Excel.exe) initiate downloads for 2 sets of configurations ?  (Excel 2k13 & SAS EG) Using UEM9.0 Win 7/64bit Office 2k13 Here's a copy of the message from UEM DirectFlex executable configuration: Reference to 'c:\program files (x86)\microsoft office\Office15\EXCEL.EXE' found in both generic config files 'GLOBAL\SAS Enterprise Guide_backup.INI' and 'Microsoft Office 2013\Excel.INI' -- ignoring reference from 'GLOBAL\SAS Enterprise Guide_backup.INI'

thanks for your reply. I just ran through the script again, this time echo'ing an errorlevel and got the same response that you mentioned...Access is denied. A bit more detail on my problem .... the application Transform Verify requires 2 local groups (twadmin & twuser) to be created locally on the VM.  A number of Windows domain groups need to be members of those localgroups.  This is where I get stuck. I'm trying to consolidate the users of a pool (who use Verify) to another pool.  We currently have the "Verify" pool with the localgroups preset on the GOLD image, but I was trying to see if there was a way around that if we could reduce the # of pools in our environment. SCCM is not an option since we are using floating desktops. thanks.

I'm running a logon task within UEM  that launches a script.  The context of the script runs a handful of commands to create localgroups AND also adds AD domain groups to these local groups. The script itself appears to run, but the local groups are not created. From the best I can tell UEM will run with Admin (system) privileges at startup so the script should complete, correct ? Any assistance would be appreciated. UEM 9.0 Windows 7 /64bit desktops

Did you ever get a resolution to your error?  I'm having the same problem. Pool seems to function properly besides the error

With the addition (in Thinapp 5) of the ALT files...Has anyone been able to successfully in place update a Thinapp (that was created with Thinapp 5)? Typically, I have the following files when creating a Thinapp.  We stream all Thinapps from a Network data share .exe .dat << PDC .msi With Thinapp 5, an .ALT file has been added to the mix When I try to complete an in place update by doing the following: .exe.1 .dat.1 .1.ALT << as instructed by a VMware Support tech The application still runs the original version In order to determine which version of the application is run for my testing, I change the sandbox name and Status Bar Display Name. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to Thinapp IBM ImagePlus Workstation Program under Windows 7 The Thinapp build process runs fine, but when I test the Thinapp on my build machine w/ the fat client installed (dirty test), I get the following error "RelaunchUsingCreateProcess:  CreateProcess failed" "c:\apps\evn\bin\evn.exe" Using Thinapp 4.7.3 on a Win7 clean machine I've tried enabling the wow64=0 item in the package.ini with no success I've found something online about moving the %systemroot% and %systemsystem% folders to the support folder so they won't be included in the Thinapp runtime.  No luck The fat client app installs/functions fine on a Windows 7 machine Any help would be appreciated

I understand enabling the AllowDirectRDP GPO setting allows RDP connectivity via a non-View client.  Having this setting disabled in XP did not stop Windows XP clients from connecting with the RDP display protocol using a View client. It looks like with Windows 7, this GPO setting must be enabled for View connectivity, is this true? By having this setting also enables connectivity via a non-View client (not good) Has anyone else found a way to allow RDP display protocol with Win7/View client while not allowing direct RDP with a non-View client?
