Can anyone tell me where, on the PARTNER SIDE, we can setup/activate it?

I've properly configured the URL settings but when I run the Support tool I get: the vmware uem configuration shared path is not configured.  Please contact your system administrator or consult the documentation. The Helpdesk Support Tool paths have been properly configured using the [UserFolder] setting. Anyone have this issue before?

Thanks for the continued assistance.  I've added the appropriate regkey to the base image and recomposed but it will not populate a letter in diskmgr. I've tried setting it to 4 and 6 with no luck.  I'm running version 12.1 and even tested it thinking maybe t he letter was there but hidden. No dice.
Would the same apply if I were to move the Windows Search Index file there as well? That way each user would have a persistent index that wouldn't constantly rebuild and pin I/O.
Is there some way to, possibly, install firefox and chrome onto a writable and then turn that into a template for future deployment?

Here's a breakdown: * Found you were using app volume 2.12.0 template. * Uploaded new template. * Added new template disk to a test VM as independent persistent disk. Mounted with a drive letter. * Opened snapvol.cfg file and added below entry, ################################################################ # Office 365 Virtual Registry exclusions ################################################################ exclude_path=\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\PackageManifests exclude_path=\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root exclude_path=\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\AppXManifest.xml exclude_path=\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Updates exclude_path=\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY * Powered off the VM. * Removed the template disk.
Thanks for your assistance.  I opened a ticket with VMWare support.  He added an exclusion to the writable and updated to 12.1 and we're good. Thanks again!

I've read and implemented the article where the OST is redirected via UEM to c:\Snapvolumestemp, etc. I followed some other steps to migrate  the Windows Index file as well with limited success. What I'm wondering is, if I use the the full uia_plus_profile do I need to perform that step or is the OST file properly captured on the writable?

I'm new to this myself but I'm finding there's a good blend of UEM & Volumes. UEM is best to control settings/favorites/etc for various apps. A writable volume is good for keeping things that are needed (and quickly) but can be discarded if need be and don't need be protected by backup: IE: Outlook OST files and Search Index.  You don't want them copying back and forth all the time via UEM. You don't want the system regenerating them from scratch with each logon so this is where the writable is good.  If something's corrupted, you can kill the writable and let it regenerate the OST and index, etc.

So, in terms of installing it on a writable, wouldn't that be a great deal of work as user's each have their own writable volume meaning you'd have to install it on each one? And wouldn't it be possible to install it onto the master image or the app yet allow the users to download addins which would be contained on their writable?  (Or perhaps that's too problematic)

I've seen the articles about the need for the registry mod using 4 or 6 but they all appear to apply to having Chrome installed on the base or on the user's Writeable. What if I want to install Chrome onto it's own appstack?  Is that a dealbreaker?

And one additional issue I've just noticed. With the previous config, Skype for Business (Lync) would CONSTANTLY popup every few minutes.  Not when a message would be received, mind you, just any time any Office program would be be run, Outlook, Excel, etc, Skype would pop up along side it and would pop up again every few minutes.  When I remove the user's writeable, it behaves itself...

No need to apologize.  Questions are great. It's 365 2016 (x64) installed directly onto the gold image.  I tested this by creating a second pool using appstacks and it didn't seem to make a difference.  Same issue. I'm running this on AppVol 2.12. The user's writeable volume is UIA+PROFILE.  As a test, I just deleted the user's writeable and have logged in WITHOUT any writable and the problem isn't there.  UNREAD works properly. Of course, once I logout/login I'll lose settings, etc. Hope this will help. Much appreicated.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue in Outlook?  It's independent of the actual Windows Search Service. When I log in as a user without a writable volume, it is able to display the list of Unread Emails properly. As soon as I log in with a writable, I get this error.  Driving me crazy.

I'm curious, (still learning VDI myself) Why did you opt to place the OST files on a share rather than simply put them on a user's writable volume?

Ok, has anyone had an issue where the, previously hidden by UEM policy, Disposable disk drive letter is now visible? I'm wondering if it's a result of this policy change.  I've verified the UEM "Hide drive letter" setting is in place but the Y drive (the letter I have) will not be hidden, now. Any takers on that one?
So, if I'm doing it 100% baked on, there wouldn't be an appstack, just the writeable volume.  Where/how should I run the allvolattached.at then?
Question to add: Once the installation is completed, do we remove the the reg settings and reseal/recompose or leave it?

I appreciate the continued assistance.  What about the case where Office 365 is baked onto the Gold Master, not its own appstack? Also, if I'm using non-persistent desktops (which I am) won't that create an issue where the index is constantly being deleted & recreated when the desktop is refreshed, creating undue I/O?
