Hi,  we managed to find the solution. It's a permission issue! For the horizon user we didn't user an Administrator role but a special Instant Clones role as described here: Privileges Required for the vCenter Server User With Instant Clones (vmware.com) But it turned out that this list lacks the permission "Alarms" > "Disable or enable alarm on entity" making the horizon connection server unable to disable the memory warning alarm on the cp-parents objects. Enabling that permission and publishing a new image finally solved the problem! I was told that they will eventually fix the docs and publish a KB. Giuseppe

Hi Peter,  the issue is still there with no solution. I've opened the first support request in July I've been given no solution at all except  disabling the cp-parent feature from instant clones! The latest hint from the support was, and I quote: "Virtual machine has 8 GB (8,293,980), and the guest OS touched in memory, AVG (7,677.982). Guest OS has touched in the memory. If memory utilization is more than 90% (warning), 95% (error), this will display an alert on vCenter. This is not a VMware issue." I think it will take another 6 months to have this warning cleared! In the mean time I suggest you opening a SR and if you want you can refer to B2B case 21280963111 and 21269740810

Hi,  I'm forcing a pdf file association with DEM 2106  to Acrobat Reader DC (64bit) but the program still complains not to be the default app for PDFs. It seems to me that DEM is lacking the possibility to specify ProgID for FTA (like Citrix Workspace Environment Manager does) and Acrobat (and maybe others) are checking this specific flag. Do you know any workaround? Regards Giuseppe

Just a follow up after raising a ticket to VMware about this issue ( SR 21249559008 ). It turned out that this is not working by design?!? They told me that there isn't any way to have Workspace One mode enabled on Connection Servers and use Session collaboration feature; but this is not a bug and I should open a feature request to have this working at some point. Honestly I see this more as a bug or something that should be noted as known issue. Giuseppe

Hello,  we are using Horizon 2103 with workspace one access and the connection servers are set in "Workspace One mode". When a user tries to start a VMWare Horizon session collaboration the invited user gets a mail with two links in order to join the session with a web browser or with the horizon client, both pointing to the UAG. When the user clicks the web browser link gets redirected to workspace one access portal (that doesn't contain the collaborative session) When the user clicks on the client link the client is opened and then the user is redirected on a Workspace One Access web page that says  "Invalid launch request, please contact your administrator" "Unable to process your request. Close this screen and try again." Any hints on this error? It was working fine when workspace one access was disabled! Thanks Giuseppe

Hi,  we are using Horizon 2103 on a VxRail cluster updated to latest vSphere/vCenter available. I can see that all the cp-parent vms for the instant clone pools are triggering a waring for "Virtual machine memory usage". The only reference about this problem that I found is this KB: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2151438 It says that "This issue has been resolved when using vCenter 7.x or later with Horizon 8 (starting with version 2006)" but I'm using newer versions than this one and still getting the warning! Has anyone found a permanent fix for this issue ? (eventually I will open a SR) Thanks Giuseppe
Thanks for the link! Do you know if there is any similar KB about vSAN for desktop? I couldn't find anything about that in the kb.

Hi,  I'm in thre process of buying an infrastructure for 300 Named Users of Horizon 8 Enterprise but I cannot find something clear about the license limit of vSphere for desktop included. Let's say that on this infrastructure I would like to have: - 300 VDI Windows (one for each user) - 50 VDI Linux (I'm not planning to have them right now but in the future is plausible for thoose users to have both windows and linux vms powered on at the same time) - 10 VDI for terminal mode APPS - 2 Domain controllers for the VDI - 2 Connection servers - 2 UAG Applieances - 2 Workspace One Access Aplliances - 2 App Volumes management servers - 1 appliance for backing up some persistant VDI - 4 (one for each host) CIFS appliances to serve DEM and FSLogix profiles (thats true with both nutanix and vSAN enterprise) - 4 Nutanix appliances for the storage (if I go with the nutanix storage solution for this project) - 1 VM for storing mail client local profiles. Are thoose kind of workload permitted? There is some hard limit on vSphere for Desktop that i should know (ie. 300 powered on vms) ? Thanks Giuseppe

Hi @EricMonjoin,  that's exactly what I did, but I cannot get the entitlements to sync (see the post https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Horizon-Desktops-and-Apps/Workspace-One-Access-and-Horizon/m-p/2810383). I was hoping that upgrading to the latest version would fix the issue. I installed the Identity manager connector 19.03.0.1 but you say 19.03.1 is a typo or I'm missing the latest version? There is a way to download the 20.10 OVA or the upgrade package in order to upgrade the installed 20.01? Regards Giuseppe
