Did you revert the VM back to a snapshot at any point? If you reverted back to before it had first configured itself with the connection broker, you would have lost the private key that it generates for itself. To resolve this you will need to remove the VM from the View configuration and re-add it again (no need to remove it from VC).

> ...no way for the LB to know that the associated Conn Server is down? This works fine. If you've correctly configured the load balancer to do a proper https query to the security server, if the linked CS goes down you'll get a 503 response instead of the expected 200. If you're doing something too simple like a basic ping test that won't be sufficient and you'll need to change your LB settings. > is possible to configure a replicated pair of Connection servers with one requiring RSA auth and the other not? Yes that is possible, SecurID configuration is configured per connection server. This is actually one of the example deployments in our documentation (pod of 4, with 2 configured for SecurID or RADIUS).

You can look at the pcoip_server log file to see why it terminated. Depending on the cause you may need to look at client logs too.

You can set it to 'never' and the connections should stay up - the catch is that you will require client versions that support the feature, which was introduced at the same time as support for app sessions. The latest Horizon software clients all support this, zero/thin clients may need to be updated and you should check with the client vendor. Mike

Did you apply the group policy setting to enable it? Unlike the full connection broker, there is no admin UI to set this policy at connection time so it must be configured by GPO. From view_agent_direct_connection.adm:
Multimedia redirection (MMR) Enabled
Determines whether MMR is enabled for client systems. MMR is a Microsoft DirectShow filter that forwards multimedia data from specific codecs on View desktops directly through a TCP socket to the client system. The data is then decoded directly on the client system, where it is played. The default value is disabled.
MMR does not work correctly if the client system's video display hardware does not have overlay support. Client systems may have insufficient resources to handle local multimedia decoding.

I'm sorry to say that it's not really an option today - the settings on the client are window / full screen (single monitor) or multimonitor (all monitors). Display settings are always supplied by the client, it's not really possible to set them inside the desktop and have them stick - eventually the client will resend the topology and things will adjust again. You can raise a feature request for the client to pick particular monitors to run sessions within - this would be entirely driven by client-side code if implemented.

If the tunnel setting is enabled then supporting clients will always establish a tunnel connection on authentication to the CS, if this goes down and on reconnection it is told that the connection is no longer valid (which will happen after your replica comes back up) then the client will terminate. This is expected behaviour, even if you don't have an RDP session going through it. Note that ancillary connections such as USB and MMR data will go through the tunnel even if you are using PCoIP since they have their own TCP transport. If you do not want clients to be disconnected when restarting a connection sever, neither the PSG nor the tunnel can be enabled. Edit: just a note to say the raw "connection reset by peer" message isn't great, this bad message may be a client bug as I'm fairly sure the older wswc client used to explicitly say that the authentication failed for a reconnection.

They are all essentially the same product, with newer versions (which contain additional features) coming out under a slightly different name - the order you've listed them is also the order of release. VMware VDM was renamed to VMware View, and when it was included in the Horizon Suite it was changed to VMware Horizon View. What specifically are you looking for, license options?

The closest is to restrict access to the pool based on tags, which can be set to match on only the internally used connection servers. This has pool-level granularity though, it will affect all users attempting to access it - if you want something only for specific users you will need to give them access to a separate pool to achieve what you're after.
If the server is unreachable then the agents will fail to connect to it and pick another in the set to connect to, so it might slightly delay their startup but it wouldn't stop them working.
