Ciao  Yes, you can also use manually Sysprep + OOBE (plus Generalize) from Windows OS (after creating the VM from the template). I use the customization spec almost every day, retry it and you send me an eventual error.
Ciao  I recommend that you do a Sysprep using a VM Customization Specifications from vCenter:   https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vm_admin.doc/GUID-EB5F090E-72... See more...

This function can also be used for VM Instant clone or VM Full Clone.   Another way is ClonePrep but this does not generate a new SID  Choosing ClonePrep or Sysprep for Customizing Your Virtual Desktops (vmware.com)

Ciao  Sorry for the mistake. You can try to change the spread across GPUs setting to Group VMs on GPU until full .... but I don't think that resolves the issue. Do you checked the Virtual Machine log when it starts when it has the error? and the /var/log/vmkernel.log on ESXi host? Do you have any errors?
Ciao  Did you try to upgrade the ESXi host to 7.0 Update 2? Because ESXi 7.0 u1 is not supported with NVIDIA GPU VMware vSphere :: NVIDIA Virtual GPU Software Documentation

Ciao  It is not clear to me from your answer whether the connection is made through UAG or by connecting directly to the connection servers. You should check if indeed the horizon client fails to validate the certificate and understand what it is that does not validate it. For example, trying to access via the web the FQDN address used to access the Horizon infrastructure (obviously when the problem arises and testing access from the location that has the problem) and checking the certificate where it is invalid ... it could be a RootCA or CRL issue that is not contacted. Or trivially it is that on a connection server there are incorrect certificates, and by changing the workstation the user can connect because on that station the validation chain of the certificate is ok or uses another connection server.

The first thing to check is which certificate has expired, I recommend you access the OS of one of the connection servers and check, launching the SNAP-IN of the local certificates of the computer     Check in the certificate store called personal which certificate to the VDM friendly name and verify its expiration date (as indicated in the arrow)     If the certificate has expired (as likely) you have to renew it and here you have two ways: The certificate is issued by a public CA (at this point you must request the renewal of the certificates from the person who generates the certificate for you) If the certificate is issued by an internal PKI (such as a Microsoft ROOTCA) you must renew by asking who you managed your company's internal PKI.   You can check if it is a certificate issued by a public or private CA by clicking on the certificate in question       You can also tell if the FQDN to which the certificate is linked is a private or public domain name. Once you have the certificate just install it on the operating systems that host the various connection servers and give it the friendly name VDM. A possible way, but I do not recommend it is to configure all horizon clients  (Thinclient or windows client not to verify the certificate) but it is highly discouraged.

Ciao  Yes, the changes affect the entire infrastructure but I advise you, if you have not done so, to read this KB carefully https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2149312 Where it is indicated that the first command certutil -setreg DBFlags + DBFLAGS_ENABLEVOLATILEREQUESTS has an impact on the infrastructure but a parameter must also be set within the certificate templates. While the second command certutil -setreg ca \ CRLFlags + CRLF_REVCHECK_IGNORE_OFFLINE If your PKI is created correctly it may not be necessary. For this point, if you need I can give you more details and info.   Check the KB that I have indicated to you.

Ciao  It depends on the configuration of the infrastructure and above all on the settings of the Horizon Client or ThinClient For example on the Horizon CLient you can set how the client should behave in front of an untrusted certificate.   On thinclient there are the same option (for example on teradici thinclient)  I suggest you replace the certificate, it is a very simple process.

CIao  It could be a Truster Root CA problem present on the profile/computer you have the problem on. Is access to the Horizon infrastructure done using the UAG (Unified Access Gateway) or by connecting directly to the connection Servers? Is the certificate used issued by a Private CA (Microsoft Private CA, with rootca and possibly a subca inside your network) or by a public CA? Is the OS on which the problem occurs joining the domain where the connection servers are located or are it out of domain / in another domain? Do you have multiple Horizon connection servers?

Ciao @tsajauka  I work with horizon infrastructures that used Tera2 (Teradici PCoIP) Thin Client, but only one I try to use MFA without success, and I find this Teradici KB. To use Azure conditional access I suppose we need to use SAML to dialogue to UAG, and Tera2 Thin Client I remember it does not support SAML.

Ciao  the choice depends on various factors first of all it depends on which HW the ESXi host runs on. From personal experience to use tools such as Solidworks or AutoCAD (and similar components), you must have NVIDIA A10 or A40 video cards and the VMs must run on datastores located on volumes with high-performance disks, with all the necessary licenses. Then it also depends on whether you need only one VM that uses Autocad and connected components or multiple VMs. For just one VM it might be right to use Fusion (obviously you miss out on all the benefits of vSphere infrastructure
