Have you tried downgrading open-vm-tools to see if the issue is resolved?   Trying to build an IC pool with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and console access works fine 100% of the time, but will randomly get a black screen connecting in via horizon client. 

Is it some sort of beta track? I don't see anything in release notes newer than from 5/25/21 and not in the downloads page that I could find.  Edit: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon-7/7.13.1/rn/horizon-7131-view-release-notes.html Still shows regular release date but updated as of 12/16 with a different build number still on 7.13.1

Yep, currently facing this in computer labs. The removal of the ability for non-admins to install printers broke GPP and our login script printing additions. There aren't V4 drivers for every printer that we use, so for the time being we put in a GPO that allows non-admins to install printers again and it is working.  What a mess.

Yep and as I mentioned/recommended yesterday with the Roaming profiles it's what we ended up setting up. I use the GPO or UEM ADMX settings [same thing] to have the profile.pb file saved to our directed network share. Then use the following settings: Note the commented out include for the profile.pb, found it unnecessary once we just redirected it off of the local image to begin with. josejjcv​ Are you using the roaming profile feature of Chrome or not? We were having gigantic profiles when using the non-roaming feature. Once we switched to roaming (where it saves much of the files into a profile.pb file) it made a big difference. My profile is about 16MB instead of multiple hundreds. The one caveat with the roaming is that you can't sync your Chrome settings with Google so you have to import your own bookmarks and such.

Agreed on that, I figure that something like Office fits easily into the 80/20 rule where [at least] 80% of people will be using office you may as well include it in the template. Especially for something that hooks into the OS like that.

I had tried that previously (but with 2016 Office). I ran into it constantly causing Office applications reconfiguring on first launch. I ended up just building it into my template. I imagine it was some mismatch of office update versions between the template, the AppVolCapture box, and the Visio install.

I realize that FSLogix is a different application, but maybe this KB that was just posted by Symantec would be of assistance? Slow logins with FSLogix and Endpoint Protection Stating that it is Windows Defender and SEP fighting over the files. I don't have any noticeable slowdown with or without SEP (14.2 RU1 MP1) installed on our image on 1809 LTSC or 1709. So maybe that could be your issue?

Thanks for the reply, I'll check that, I thought I had that fully removed from the default profile run keys, but will do additional searches in the registry and remove the traces in case it is causing other issues.

still having the same issues, including running the new 2.18 agent. Seems that any form of updates that happen that separate the template/image from the captured version messes everything up entirely. Windows 10 1809 LTSC AppVol 2.18 Office 2016 Latest September patches installed on golden image for instant clones as well as the reference/provisioning machine.

I haven't tried that application, but you can use UEM to capture that directory, what happens if you create a UEM profile for it and get it captured? Would likely need to have it be running with directflex off. Although depending on the size of that application it may make things take longer to login/etc. Other than that maybe it turns into one of those things where you hope that they put out an /allusers switch like we have to do with OneDrive and Teams (sigh)

I hadn't played much with vRops in the past, but I did find how to make the alert in there. There's a few that are built in, such as for provisioning disabled, out of VMs in a pool, or unable to join a pool because of a provisioning error. Thanks for the heads up about it.

I realize this is a handful of months old and am currently looking for the same thing. Some way to be notified if provisioning fails/gets disabled on a pool. Had a similar issue to what you mentioned a month or so ago and didn't come out looking great after. Trying to think if SCOM can watch any specific logs or something to regularly check.

What happens if you try user-assigned instead of computer-assigned? We also have SEP 14.2.3335.1000 running in our environment with the same exlusions set on our SEPM servers and login times are a minute or less with a couple appstacks applied. VMs are currently 2CPU/6GB RAM and we have machines on both Windows 10 1709 and 1809 LTSC. Horizon 7.8 AppVol 2.17 UEM 9.8
