Hi All, we using VMware DEM since years for our instant clone VDIs. current version is 2206. Since a few months we have very very few issues that UEM import is not working during logon. We have per day over 500 logons and had in the last 3 months 4 user how complained about there profile that all custom settings are lost.  I could see that the logoff export the day before was fine. In flexengine logs I can find these errors... ################### 2023-05-10 07:29:47.490 [FATAL] Error importing archive '\\company.domain\applikationen\UPM\UPMSettings\Max.Mustermann\archive\10_Windows_Settings\File Type Associations W10.zip' 2023-05-10 07:29:47.569 [FATAL] Importing registry information failed (verification value still has initial data) 2023-05-10 07:29:47.569 [FATAL] Error importing archive '\\company.domain\applikationen\UPM\UPMSettings\Max.Mustermann\archive\10_Windows_Settings\Internet Explorer.zip' 2023-05-10 07:29:50.569 [FATAL] Importing registry information failed (verification value still has initial data) 2023-05-10 07:29:50.569 [FATAL] Error importing archive '\\company.domain\applikationen\UPM\UPMSettings\Max.Mustermann\archive\10_Windows_Settings\KeyboardSettings.zip' 2023-05-10 07:29:50.633 [FATAL] Importing registry information failed (verification value still has initial data) ################### And so on. Nothing could be imported during the logon. But DEM wrote a new backup after logoff. So we have to manual restore the old user backup from day before and user was happy again. We have no debug logging enabled. So what can be wrong here with the logon/import of the profile? All our profile are stored on the same fileserver. We couldn't see any outage of the fileserver. Any ideas how we have can avoid that user profile will be overwritten in this state when logout again? Thanks and Regards, VMHero4Ever    

Hi all, how can I see debug log information about flexengine "path-based export" when using DEM with flexsync tool? It works for clients without flexsync tool enabled. The path location is our central DEM share... \\domain.de\applikationen\DEM\DEMProfile\%USERNAME%\logs\Flexengine-%Computername%.log But I can't find a log for our notebooks which have flexsync tool installed. On the local device there are some log below C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\VMware UEM\FlexSync. There is Flexengine-Notebookname.log but it contains no detailed information about import/export tasks. Thanks, VMHero4Ever

Hi all, we have some employees which want's a windows solid color wallpaper on the VDI. You can select on Windows 20H2 different solid colors in the wallpaper settings. But after log off an log on again it will not be restored on our instant clone vdi. Sometimes it's black or sometime it's an older solid color wallpaper, but not the latest choice. When choosing a standard default wallpaper or any other wallpaper file it works. I don't want to set a predefined wallpaper. Our users should set a their own favorite wallpaper/solid color. Can anyone else confirm that it doesn't work with DEM? We are using latest version. Thanks, VMHero4Ever

Hi all, we using since multiple years Trend Micro Deep Security agentless antimalware for all our VMs and also VDIs. Now we want to get a higher protection against ransomware and newer encryption trojans. So we want to switch to agent-based AV solution. But we are also afraid about performance issue because of an higher impact on storage, cpu and memory. We also use Instant Clone VDIs. I read that a lot of solution can't handle these non-persistent VDI well. Any recommendation what we should use? I know that there are a lot of solutions on the market available. But I want to hear from someone who has already a good solution in production with VMware Instant Clones and maybe also App Volumes.    Thanks in advance, VmHero4Ever  

Hi All, we use since few years already Instant Clone VDI with VMware DEM. Our guest OS is: WIN10 20H2 I saw that after each logoff all existing settings regarding "app notifications" will be lost. So after logon to a fresh vdi there is no existing entry off any application listed below "notifications & actions" --> "get notifications from these senders"   It should look like this:    But it's completly empty.. Which rekey/file do I need to add to my UEM config? Thanks and Regards, VMHero4Ever
