HI Lieven,    Thanks for sharing .. those 3 E5 CPU are probably your bottle neck. The thing that I do not link about Nutanix is that the CVM have a large CPU and memory requirements. I started my purchase process for the 4 Dell 760 servers with 2 A16 and 32 core 2.8 Platinum CPU (latest Gen) DDR5 and I am going to initially try it with 2 cores per user (since the CPU is faster along with memory) and with total 716 GHz available (currently 519 GHz on 8 nodes) with out the CVM overhead, apple to apple, I should be able to run my 300 VDIs. I will move Test Pools and other odd persistent VDI to a reduced current Nutanix cluster. on your side, consider the DDR5 with Intel New Generation CPUs and you can pick either a gold or platinum CPU. you already have the 36 cores - you will have 384 cores. with a a much lower Physical core to Virtual core ratio, you should be golden. Thanks
using nonpersistent and for GPU, I am using the M10 1 GB profile.

Yoshimotto, Thank you so much for your insight.   I am planning on replacing the 8 node cluster with 5 nodes  Limit my users to 2 cores (it will be a better and faster processor than currently used) Use faster memory. Upgrade to A16 from M10 2x 32 core per host = 64 cores per host 64*5 = 320 total cores cluster 330vdi*2= 660 vCore 660vCores / 5 = 132 vCore / Host with 64 cores per host, I should maintain less than 2.1  pCore/vCore ratio. I may be forced to start with 4 node and add one soon after

Hello Community,    I just need some input on your VDI infrastructure - I will share mine: We use 8 Node Nutanix cluster on Horizon 8 2206 with Esxi 7.0 Update 3 CPU - Intel Xeon Gold 6226 2.7 GHZ (2)  --> 12 core Total 24 Nutanix 768 GB RAM 1GB Tesla M10 GPU Profile Almost everything I can think of is optimized to use Hardware Acceleration. Most users are running 3 cores and 8 GB of RAM Login Time is below 30 seconds with Fslogix, UEM/DEM/ and App volumes. Windows 10 with O365 and Adobe and McAfee Move with Agent VDI Performance is acceptable. My issue is My ESXi hosts get to the 90 % CPU Utilization. I have 330 VDIs in total. Remember this is on 8 ESXI Hosts. I see Intel and Cisco UCS recommendations where they are able to run 150 or more on a similar infrastructure as far as CPU and Memory. I am thinking of replacing Nutanix altogether and use my All Flash FS7300 Storage Array that seem to have low microsecond latency on my Server cluster. This will require me to replace my Nutanix Appliances and I am thinking about Gen 4 Gold  or Platinum CPU with 32 Cores for a total of 64 cores with Nvidia A16 GPU and faster memory. could your share your VDI infrastructure that you are happy with or have similar issues as me? Also, do any of you use the Intel Optane Persistent Memory for VDI? Thoughts on going with Gold or Platinum CPU?  Thoughts on benefits of DDR4 to DDR 5 Memory or Adding Optane Persistent Memory? Any input is greatly appreciated in advance.

on my base image I have Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise installed and working correctly on my VDIs. Activation takes place with "Shared Computer Licensing"    All components of office 365  work and activate nicely on my instant clones.   Issue: Now I needed to Make an AppStack of Visio 2019 Standard  and I can not seem to successfully package it. I get error messages and it wont activate either. My Clean system where I captured Visio, I removed O365 and did not make that much of a difference.   Has any one able to do this successfully?

Having issue with Dymo Printer on Windows 10 (when I assign an Appstack). I leverage UEM and App Volumes with View 7 and Instant Clones - Zero Clients with USB redirection enabled. ON a VDI with NO Appstacks, my USB Dymo printer gets installed and I have the drivers and software on Master Image. As soon as I attach an appstack, my DYMO will NOT install with Plug and play... It detects the printer, I see it liste din my Devices and Printers with the correct Model Number.

Update.... I think the issue is caused by UEM or APP Volumes ... I removed the App Volumes agent and the USB label Printer gets installed fine. There are a lot of USB redirection related issues being reported by the community , I have not been able to address mine. I have two cases open with VMWARE and so far the one suggestion given to me did not work ... "Can you please try to create a DWORD value “ProcessDriverStore” and set it to 0 under “HKLM\System\CurrentcontrolSet\Services\Parameters” on the base image and then see if that makes any difference for Dymo Label Printer after a new snapshot and recompose" Any one has any input?

just to add additional info.... I installed the direct connect View agent to my master and it picked up the label printer correctly and installed it. I use your normal app Volume and UEM  in my environment as well. I provisioned new VDIs after the master detected the Label printer correctly and  still show the same result in  my instant clone VDIs... Label Printer  remains in the unspecified devices list. Attached is an image of the issue .. Thank you for any help

I am using Horizon View 7 With Instant clones and I am having issue with a label printer  that is attached to my Zero Client with USB. Currently Most of my users have two USB printers. One Printer (Brother) works correctly with my Non Persistent VDI. I have the Drivers for the Model already loaded in to my master Image. The Second Printer (Dymo Label Printer), I also have the driver loaded on the master image. When connected to my Zero Client, the hardware gets detected as the correct Label Printer however It remains in the UNSPECIFIED devices list. If I try to add the printer manually, I am able to do so but since the VDI's are non persistent, the settings gets lost during reboot. Any Suggestion or Help will be appreciated.

sjesse, the location is correct, I see the Parent VM on the same OU as well.one semi workaround I found is that I am running a bat script to force GPUPDATE on the Master VM local group policy. The first time I create a pool or delete all the snapshots and current VMs, the Policies run as they should and my instant clones are good. when I update the master image with a new snapshot and push the new image, 90 % of the time the group policy does NOT Take effect. My Linked clones have no issues b/c the VMs reboot multiple times during provisioning. The instant clones do not reboot since they fork from the parent machine.

Wimp777, I took my time today, I deleted all my old pools and recreated the pools. Removed all those Parent CP machines ... I have an instant clone windows 10 Pool first, as soon as my VMs provisioned could see the computer and user policy that were in effect. everything I tested worked great. I made a shortcuts to the Master (Public desktop) and pushed the new snapshot - as usual no errors during provisioning at all. Then when I login with my account and two test accounts, the Computer policies that should have taken place did not happen. These are Non persistent systems so if I logoff and log back on, it will be the same story. Checked in my Both DCs for a similar event  5722 that you mentioned and I have non of those. If I run gpupdate/force on my VDI, I get some of the policies and some require a reboot to take effect. but since this is non persistent it does not make any difference My feeling is that the CP parent machine needs to reboot - but I do not know how to reboot it or when it reboots it self. My linked clone pool with the same policies that reside in the same OU works perfectly. Any more suggestions? I also have a ticket open with VMware

I have 2 Domain Controllers in my environment - in the same datacenter /location and same Network. Let me make a note of the specific error message on my DCs and I will take a note and hopefully there is a KB fix for windows 10 as well. I will get back to you this week on Tuesday or Thursday .... My Link clones are working fine on my windows 10 and I deleted all my Instant clone pools and deleted all the parent VMs so I can start clean and make a note of each issue.  I also upgraded my environment to 7.3.2 a week ago and hoping to see a better result. Thank you for taking the time to reply and I will update you in 2-3 days. Thank you
Sorry For the late reply, the version is LTSB 2016 Thank you

VMs provisioned with Instant clone - OS Windows 10 LTSB - are NOT receiving the Computer Based Group Policy ... I reviewed and did exactly what the VMware Knowledge base suggested as a work around but no luck on my end. https://kb.vmware.com/kb/2150495 Any suggestions? if any one is using Windows 10 with instant clones, if you can share some tips and advice please?
