I have same issue on 1709. No fix.
Here's what they sent me. "Engineering has confirmed we will only support RHEL 6 for smart card authentication in the current release"
I put in a ticket 2 weeks ago and they told me that smart card redirection for RHEL7.5 is not supported and they don't know anyone that has got it to work.
I'm seeing the same thing with 1709. 1607 and 1703 works great for us. We are running Horizon 7.3.2.

We have upgraded to 7.3 and are experiencing an issue when locking the machine and going to a different PCOIP ThinClients or by using blast in the Horizon Client.  We use SSO with SmartCards. The Instant Clone creates a new machine after the box has been locked. Our pool shows the old machine in an Already Used state . Our connections severs are upgraded to 7.3, we are using 9.2.1 with the SSO compatibility UEM gpo, We have a SR created. We do not see this issue when we use Username and password. Anyone seeing similar issues?
We got it to work by uninstalling 7.2. (Not the Adam) Then installing.
Well I found the anwser by chance. I enabled Windows Firewall and rebooted. This fixed my issue. What Windows Firewall has to do with it. I don't know. Hopefully this helps someone else out.
Has anyone else experienced the August Windows 10 Updates KB4035631 and KB4034658 breaking the taskbar search bar?

We can read\execute CD's. However if they are blank, we get this error: "Windows can't read the disc in the drive. Make sure that the disc uses a format that Windows recognizes. If the disk is unformatted, you need to format it before using it." I contacted VMWare they pointed me to this KB. USB Redirected CD/DVD burners fail to function as expected (2149632) | VMware KB Pretty much saying, if you use Horizon 6 or 7. You can not write to blank CD's. The VMware Engineers said they have never seen it work on Horizon 7. Is that the case. This a show stopper for VMware in our environment.

The files are there. Until restart. Then they disappear. So I some what fixed it. My log on time has added 30 seconds but favorites are now showing up. I've tried a million different settings combos but this the only one that works. I had to turn Direct Flex on, Export at Logoff, and add {IncludeIndivdualFolder} <Favorites> along with my settings from the orginal post.  This creates duplicate shortcut links in the Profile Archive. But it works.
We had Retain File Modification dates disabled. We enabled. Unfortunately same behavior.

UEM deletes Favorites every log off. They vanish from our Network folder. The odd part it's only at the top layer. Favorites will save if you put them in a folder. In my attached screenshot. Everything inside the folders Favorites, Favorites Bar, and Links for United States stays. However my Google link deletes. I've tried with Folder Redirection and messing with the default IE config file. However, I can't find any help. Currently this my Internet Explorer config file and I have folder redirection configured for favorites.. I got the exact same problem! Let me know when you figure it out.
Not yet. We're going to try UEM now that we've resolved our writeable issue.
Thank you so much for your help. It was a GPO. We haven't narrowed it down yet but, I'll let yall know when I do. Thanks!

However Still having issues with writeable not working. Removed McAfee completely. Still no luck Checked Local Policies for Removable Media settings. Couldn't find anything blocking.
