Hi, just grab:   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Notifications\Settings   Cheers
... and after you use only the *.exe without Folder Structure you can check you settings with "Validate DirectFlex". Anything there?
First I thought on "Drive Mapppings" with conditions but then I read twice .... maybe over logon task and a powershell for each specific user?
ok, just try the exe then:
use the ADMX file included in the download file and configure gpo over the "VMware DEM/Management Console" setting "Environments":   cheers Dominik
can you share a pic from your DirectFlex ? i.e. my notepad++ looks like that, did you set the "enable DirectFlex" flag?   cheers Dominik

Hello, I don't know exactly what you mean when you mention Server 2012 and UEM in connection with a server update and DEM 10x as these things are completely independent from my understanding. DEM (UEM, Flex...) can be operated independently of a server, i.e. from a config and user share. Can you ask your question in a different and more specific way? Cheers, Dominik
well okay... we will try this and after some days I will report here   https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Dynamic-Environment-Manager/2203/com.vmware.dynamic.environment.manager-adminguide/GUID-6... See more...

Hi there, we might have a Problem since DEM 2111 or DEM 2203 with MS Edge 101 and up. Some of our 7000 users get an error message when logging off Windows: "msedge.exe - System Error Execution of the code cannot continue because msedge_elf.dll was not found...." MS Support just wrote me back, quote: "For this issue we have performed an investigation internally. From it, we have concluded that this issue is a side effect of unsupported hooking techniques used by 3rd party software products. More specifically, calls to CreateProcess from the Edge browser process are being incorrectly hooked, resulting in a partially initialized crashpad handler process.The dialog with the error is then a consequence of this fact, since this process does not have the correct data structures in memory to find and load msedge_elf .dll as expected. This issue became more visible since we introduced a crashpad handler process launch optimization (for performance reasons) around Edge 101, creating visible impact to end users because of this unsupported hooking scenario. The only way to ensure Microsoft Edge works as expected is to ensure the mentioned system call hooking is removed, as Microsoft has no way to control the unpredictable array of situations that Windows API hooking/thread injection can create, either in other browser usage scenarios or when we introduce further optimizations (either performance but especially security related). In your case we have identified as culprit to be the below Module provided by VMware DEM: FlexHook64.dll. Moving Forward: Please engage the vendor of the FlexHook64.dll as they must ensure that the mentioned system call hooking is removed. If you manage to have a statement from the third-party vendor in regard to this issue, please let us know if they are recognizing any flaws within their product and if they are committed to fixing it." Anyone else? @DEMdev   Thanks, Dominik
@DEMdev  Thank you
First, thanks DEMDev for replying This dialog appears after searching and after selecting a user. I will send you the *.PML zipped and privately, thank you very much. kind regards, Dominik
Hi there, its a German Version, sorry for that, but did anyone know this kind of failure? It tells me "illegal sign in path" whatever that means  @DEMdev  Thanks, Dominik
 Too bad, I wanted to use the latest DEM version for our Windows 10 Ent. 21H2 and also install all GI with it.
Thank you We find out 1 day later, thankfully we didnt push the update on our 6000 client environment  Update when? Maybe 10.4.1 very soon ?  cheers, Dominik
maybe because of this:
any ideas ? @DEMdev

We thought it´s a good idea to save and reload the User Settings/Files between their sessions if they work on more than 1 Session. So we build this for the trigger "Workstation locked" ... and that for the triggeer "Workstation unlocked": I share your opinion that saving various user settings across multiple PCs can lead to corrupt data if certain applications "lock" the file. We wanted to improve the user experience with these triggers because we have a lot of users who work on several PCs ...

Thank you sir But if we not use the  workstation lock and unlock trigger with flexengine -s anymore, would it be not a problem with the usecase anyway? i.e. ==> User works on Workstation "A", some time after that he moves to Workstation "B" without locking "A". Then he logs off on Workstation "B" with the DELTA he makes on "B" - Now back to Worksation "A" no DELTA from "B" is there because no log off or Flexeninge -s Trigger on "A"... Now he logs off on Workstation "A" and there we go... Savings from Workstation "B" are gone and overwritten from Workstation "A" with a chance of corrupt files from last Save from Workstation "B" because some Office or other files on Workstation "A" where "open" already ? Thanks

Hi Arnout, thanks for the reply! Our users often use more than one PC and / or one VMware session in one day and we wanted to use the "Flexengine -s" triggered task to save our users the individual intermediate steps in the day. If a user moves from PC "A" to PC "B" and then to PC "C", the changes on PC "C" should also be loaded on PC "B" and PC "A". Our users often do not log off from a PC but lock (Windows+L or STRG-ALT-DEL) - if at all) the client. We try to save all kinds of settings and files like Windows Environment or Apps like Firefox links, Office 2016 Changes, Changes to company own apps and even Gimp/WinSCP/Putty and other freeware changes. Thank you ! Cheers Dominik
