Hi, From what I know, you can order the Cloud subscription either through VMware/Reseller/MSP partner. After your order (Horizon Cloud Licenses) has been placed and processed you will get a URL where you can get access to the control pane and connect your Horizon Cloud tenant towards your Azure Subscription. Does this help? Regards, Dennis

Hi JayMan6014, Regarding your questions: 1) This seems quite long. Which OS are you using for your VDI deployment (only Windows 7)? Not sure on which version of Horizon Cloud/Air your tenant is created, but maybe you have the option to use Instant Clone technology? If not, when you deploy new desktops a full clone is created, from what I have seen in other regions, the actual cloning part should only take a few minutes. Afterwards, the customization is happening and the Domain Join part.  Do you have a DC enrolled near the Desktops in the Cloud? Is sites and Services implemented for the desktop segment in Horizon Cloud/Air? 2) Image Update means refreshing the pool? If yes, then it is the same as question 1. Floating desktop pools are refreshed with a new image only when an administration triggers it (Pool Refresh option in /HorizonAdmin). If a user logs off from a floating desktop, all changes to the desktop are discarded and the desktop reboots in a pristine state again. When you are doing a pool refresh and a desktop is currently allocated to a user, it waits to refresh the desktop for a certain amount of time until the user is logged off. If the user keeps active or disconnected it could happen that the timeout of the refresh action occurs and you end up with a desktop which is not updated. You should see this within the status of the job in Tasks&Events. Regards, Dennis

Hi HussamRabaya, It depends on the situation I think. If you are managing the complete user environment with VMware UEM, I suggest it will be logical to apply folder redirection from within UEM. This way you can have a nice separation where the User part that is only managed within UEM and the system with GPO and/or a deployment tool. If for some reason, you need multiple folder redirection settings for different sets of users, you have the ability to use the powerful conditions of UEM. Hope this helps? Regards, Dennis

Hi Suri123, Writable volumes and UEM will work together, that should not be the issue. When the user is logged in, do you see if the writable volumes is attached from the Manager Interface? Also make sure the that: 1. Limit the attachment of user writables to specific computers is disabled or correctly configured. 2. Operating Systems is set to the correct OS of the client where the writable is being used. Regards,

Hi Kumar, First of all, normally the default templates should be ok for most cases. If you want to include of exclude settings you can just edit the config (expand the config file). If you want to profile the application, follow the directions in: Whitelist blocked applications for the UEM Application Profiler (2148322) | VMware KB

Hi Pim, This was a short PoC implementation with limited time to troubleshoot. It seemed it had something to do with the time between the machine boot time and the user login action. If this was very short, because we had a very small test pool with dynamic desktops, the issue seems to occur. When giving the VM's more time to become idle after reboot the issue wasn't there. also, you have to make sure this key is excluded and not included in the startmenu INI. [ExcludeIndividualRegistryValues] HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\StartMenuInit

HI, What kind of profile strategy are you using? Do you have VMware UEM running in your environment? This because roaming profiles are unpredictable when it comes to logon times. Also, make sure you have optimized your images with the OSOT tool: VMware OS Optimization Tool  and make sure you removed items such as unnecessary active setup keys and run keys. regards,
On which OS is this happening? Did you check the UEM log file of one of the users that are experiencing this issue?
Hi Pim, Just a few demo applications are included within the Appstack, such as Filezilla, Chrome , notepad++ etc nothing special. All shortcuts are located within the Startmenu. .

HI All, Not completely sure this should be in the App Volumes or UEM forum. I have a strange issue with App Volumes 2.12 and UEM 9.1 implementation at a customer site. When i attach a Appstack (created on W10 1607) on my Dynamic desktop pool (also Windows 10 1607), some of the shortcuts which are created with UEM are not clickable. Without UEM with appstack, shortcuts from the system are working just fine. Without the appstack, shortcuts from UEM are working fine. On other Windows versions like Windows 7, everything is working ok. Seems an issue that only occurs when combining Windows 10, UEM and App Volumes. Does anyone have an idea? Regards,

As mentioned by HartmutEhl‌ you can whitelist processes from default templates within the profiler. Actually there is now a KB for this: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2148322 In addition, if you are a advanced user you can also capture the settings with Regshot or procmon. If you would like to avoid the default templates, you can just simple not import them or delete them? What is the reason that you do not want to use the default templates? If you want to create your own templates, you have basically two options: -  Create one form scratch (Personalization --> Create Config file --> Create a custom config file) -  Create the INI files with the use of the  UEM Profiler

If I understand it correctly, you are redirecting the UEM profile creation to a share and want to delete it upon logoff? Are the settings for this specific application saved within the UEM profile and is this the reason why it gets corrupted? If yes, exclude the files form the profile? How did you configure the UEM Personalization file for this Application (import/export settings)? Another suggestion is to use the Profile Cleanup tab if you know which part of the profile should be cleaned during logoff.

You might consider the following when using Windows 10 as a VDI OS - Windows 10 LTSB (No new feature updates, only security, No Cortana, Store, Edge and Store Apps) - Consider a mandatory profile (https://blogs.vmware.com/euc/2017/01/vmware-user-environment-manager-mandatory-profiles-part-1.html) - When using UEM for profile management, use direct flex as much as possibe to reduce logon times. - Use VMware OS Optimization tool like already mentioned in other replies. There is also a public template coming from LoginVSI with #VDILIKEAPRO https://labs.vmware.com/flings/vmware-os-optimization-tool - Remove OneDrive setup - Check registry for RUN and Active Setup items Good luck!
