Having a weird problem. I have a dedicated pool that will not provision more VM's. It is stuck at 23 even though I have told it to create 35 up-front. It worked initially and I was able to add a few more after the pool was first created. It works fine otherwise and i can rebuild existing VM's but jut not able to add more. There are no errors anywhere that I can see. It doesn't even try to provision. Environment .... Horizon 7.2.0 vSphere 6.5.0 App Vol 2.12.1

Having issues with Windows 10 and Skype 2016 opening up constantly on floating pools. Skype just keeps popping up in front of everything at random intervals. It's really annoying. If I remove the App Volume agent then it stops happening. Also, if the App Volume agent is installed I can not search the Skype Address book. No errors or anything. Just blank. Same resolution. I remove the App Vol agent and I can search just fine. My environment .... Horizon 7.2.0 App Vol 2.12.1 UEM 9.2.0

Anybody else having an issue with Skype 2016 not being able to search users. It only works if the user types in the entire email address. Usually you just have to start typing the users name and it starts showing results. I have made the sure the GAL is downloaded and i have set the HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync registry key to 0. It does it even if I remove all associated app stacks. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. My UEM is set to this ... [IncludeRegistryTrees] HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync [IncludeFolderTrees] <LocalAppData>\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync

Has anybody had any issues with connecting to their Windows 10 VDI after optimization? I have a working Windows 10 pool but after I run optimization and create a new pool from it or recompose I am unable to connect. It looks like it's going to work but it sits on the "Welcome" screen for a few seconds and then just closes. Really weird. I just ran the Optimization Tool and did most of the recommendations. All we did was set the GPO to the UEMProfiles location for each user and it's working perfect. When I check the O365 Console it only shows a single activation since we are using non-persistent VM's this was vital.

We have upgraded to UEM 9.2 and granting access to another team to be able to make changes and provide support of the VDI's. We have granted the group full access to the UEMSHARE location but they are unable to make any changes from within the UEM Management Console. Is there another location where the permissions need to be set?
I was able to get this to work by creating the App Stack for the RSAT tools using a Windows 7 x64 machine and then making it available for Windows 10 x64 as well. Everything works fine.

OS - Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 1604 x64 I have been trying to create an appstack which contains the RSAT tools. When I run MSU file directly it just sits for a few a minutes and then displays the message that it failed to successfully install KB2693643. I tried to extract the files as listed below and use DISM to install. expand -f:* c:\WindowsTH-KB2693643-x64.msu C:\Temp Once all the files were extracted, I did this command: Dism.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\Temp\windowsth-kb2693643-x64.cab but that fails also with ... Error: 17 "The system cannot move the file to a different disk drive." This is just a base Windows 10 machine that is used to create app stacks. I can create other app stacks with no problems. I have also been able to image a PC with the same Windows 10 version and install the RSAT tools just fine. It is only prevented when trying to create an app stack with it. I have downloaded multiple copies from Microsoft so I know the file is not corrupted. Any help would be much appreciated.
That worked! Thanks a lot! I was losing my mind. I had to remove this exclusion though because Skype would no longer launch with it exclude_process_name=OfficeClicktoRun.exe

I have a Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB pool. Everything is working great. When I add users to the UIA plus Profile security group which provides them with a writable profile the Skype Address Book search stops working. No error messages or anything. When I take the writable away it searches the address book fine. Any help would be much appreciated. I looked through the snapvol.cfg file and don't see anything that I should change regarding Skype or Office.

This worked for me. Had to edit the base image, take a new snapshot, and recompose. To disable HotPlug capability using the vSphere Client: Connect to the ESXi/ESX host or vCenter Server using the vSphere Client. Power off the virtual machine. Right-click the virtual machine and click Edit Settings. Click the Options tab. Click General > Configuration Parameters > Add Row. Insert a new row with the name devices.hotplug and a value of false . Power on the virtual machine. Navigate to the virtual machine you want to modify. Power off the virtual machine. Right-click the virtual machine and select Edit Settings. Click the VM Options tab. Click Advanced > Edit Configuration > Add Row. Insert a new row with the name devices.hotplug and a value of false . Power on the virtual machine.

We have Office 2010 locally installed on the VDI base. Users with writable profiles will often have issues with Office applications not being licensed. To fix it we have to delete the writable profile. It usually happens after patching the VDI. Are there any other locations that should be excluded in the snapvol.cfg file besides %ProgramFiles\Microsoft Office?
