The best course of action would be to build new and move your parent VM's over to the new environment. There are a lot of considerations. First thing to do is to check the various compatibility matrices to ensure the supporting components (hardware, operating systems, sql server versions) are supported..  You may want (or need) to migrate to Server 2016, SQL 2014, for example. If you are on vCenter 5.5 you're probably on the Windows version, if you upgrade to 6.5 you'll want to go with the appliance.. etc. If you are on a View 5.x environment there is a good possibility that the latest vSphere does not support your hardware.  If you aYou may also need to upgrade zero clients, for example if you are on Tera1, they are no longer supported. Most customers I work with on a View 5.x environment need to buy new hardware, so we just build a new vSphere/View environment on that new platform and migrate things over.

You can't with your zero clients.  You would need to switch to a different thin client that supports the Blast Extreme protocol.
Have you tried disabling the Apex card?  I have one with GRID K2's in our lab and the 3D VM's with the K2's run like crap with the Apex in the loop. I get excellent performance as soon as I disab... See more...

thanks, yeah I upgraded horizon a while ago and used those tools to take care of it.  I think that feature was introduced in 7.2.

We enabled the retain file modification dates setting, and then split the built-in IE config into two, with a separate config that only handles cookies.  That was set to do not export files older than 7 days.  That helped a bit, but so did excluding the MS office autorecover files.  Logon times are improved but are still pretty bad, over 2 minutes usually...
I noticed Horizon 7.3.2 downloads went live last night.  I am unable to find any release notes or documentation for this release.  VMware, are they going to be uploaded soon?

Hey all, I recently built a PoC environment with Horizon 7.2 used for only  RDS hosted apps.  Pool is set to use only BLAST protocol and not allow users to choose others.  It worked fine for a few days after implementation, and then the customer reported that their RDS hosts were going into agent unreachable status.  Issue was reproducible by connecting to an application, closing the horizon client, and attempting to reconnect from another PC.  The user would get a message saying the remote host is not ready to accept connections, and then a few minutes later the RDS host would go into agent unreachable status in View administrator.  I checked the View Agent service status and it was still running on the RDS host, and there were no references to it shutting down in the log or debug log. Today, I found some odd messages in the blast-worker-sessionid2.log file at the time of the issue.  This repeated every 10 seconds until the time of me capturing the log files: 2017-10-25 15:34:47.625-0400 [WARN ] 0x1178 bora::Warning: socket 113 state: CLOSE_WAIT local: 0.0.0.0:49152 remote: 10.1.10.56:61769 2017-10-25 15:34:57.323-0400 [WARN ] 0x1178 bora::Warning: socket 113 state: CLOSE_WAIT local: 0.0.0.0:49152 remote: 10.1.10.56:61769 2017-10-25 15:35:07.021-0400 [WARN ] 0x1178 bora::Warning: socket 113 state: CLOSE_WAIT local: 0.0.0.0:49152 remote: 10.1.10.56:61769 I then changed the pool to use only PCoIP and so far, have not been able to reproduce the issue.  Has anyone seen anything like this with BLAST? Thanks!
I am still looking for the answer to this question as well.

I noticed this tonight after an upgrade to 2.12.1.  Any ideas?
I'd be curious to see a sanitized version of your JSON configuration export..

Horizon 7.3.1 is available to download.  I upgraded the lab here yesterday, so far so good.  Haven't tested linked clones yet, only instant.  I'll see if the bug was fixed at some point today.
What issues are you having with the UAG?

You can't use horizon client 5.0 with Horizon 7.2.  There is no unsupported method of getting it working either, even if you re-enable TLS 1.0 on the connection server, etc. You need at least client version 3.2 (yes, 3.2 is newer than 5.  keep in mind they rolled the numbering over for some reason back in 2012/13?)  If HP doesn't have a later firmware version, and it's not running say Windows embedded where you can update the client on your own, then you need to purchase new clients.

Yea, you're on the right track.  If you want to connect with blast secure gateway disabled on the connection server (which is required when using access point/uag instead of security server), you need to set horizon up to connect via dns name instead of IP (ADSI edit setting) as well as place a wildcard cert on each of the desktops and bind it to the blast service.  It's a pain in the butt, but has to be done..

That's an interesting thought.  This environment worked fine on Monday, and when the users came in to work the next day, nobody could connect.  I do have a VDP job running nightly to backup the VM. I installed the same UAG at another client (but in two nic mode) around the same time.  They do not have any backups happening and haven't had this happen yet.  They also haven't actively been using the UAG, just me hitting it to see if its still accepting connections.
