Hi All I need to Thinapp an application wit Oracle client 10.2 patch 4 now the problem is that after the login the application disappears from the desktop! But it's still showing within the taskmanager of the XP and the DB shows the connection as establish and ready to work... so that’s how I made it. 1. Run Thinapp on a clean XP SP2 2. Install Oracle 10.2 3. Install Oracle Patch 0.4 4. Install Oracle ODBC 5. Checking Tnsnames.ora and SQLnet.ora have the right entries! 6. Install the Application 7. run thinapp 8. Build the Application in to the Packet I need 9. starting the packed app the login screen starts and I am able to login and the DB Server registers my login and tells me I am connected. But now my application is not visible on the Desktop of the XP.... If I start on the same machine the installed app it works with now problems... Thanks for your help Sergio

Hi We had the same issue here. We solved it using the customization spezification with sysprep functionality to add the VM`s to a specific OU. 1st step:create a sysprep customization spezification on your VC, like the one below. ;SetupMgrTag OemSkipEula=Yes InstallFilesPath=C:\sysprep\i386 AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=110 OemSkipWelcome=1 ProductKey="Your Produkt License Ke]" FullName="Fullname for VMXP" OrgName="ORG Name" ComputerName=* CountryCode=41 LanguageGroup=1 <--your regional settings SystemLocale=00000807 <--your regional settings UserLocale=00000807 <--your regional settings InputLocale=0807:00000807 <--your regional settings DistFolder=C:\sysprep\i386 DistShare=windist JoinDomain= DomainAdmin="User with rights to add Computer to Domain" DomainAdminPassword=xxxxxxxx MachineObjectOU="OU=,OU=,DC=Company,DC=com" <--This is the important part! The OU's and domain need to be correctly set!! InstallDefaultComponents=Yes 2nd step: Delete the entries in the following reg keys on the Template before using it for your pool's, so the computername will be created properly. "RegisteredOrganization"="ORG" "RegisteredOwner"="USER" delete only the entries "ORG" and "USER" and not the key itself!!! 3rd Step: Leave the Administrators account password the Template blank hope that helps. greetings Sergio

Hi We use the VDI environment for a GIS Application and it’s running really good. Some Problems that we ran in to was, some additional application Files had to be stored locally and not on a network storage! Additional things like resolution settings and bandwidth have to be checked also, and are very important to the performance of the App. but if you not work over ISDN it’s very good to work with. what is you setup for the XP Client?

Hi all, I'm currently using the customization option in VC 2.0.1 to create VM's used with VDM 2.0. I know it is using Sysprep and I need to edit the join Domain functions so it not only puts the XP in to the Domain, but also in to the right OU. This way I can automate the GPO Policy settings for the Computers like Logon scripts dedicated to different Pools in the VDM 2.0 Broker. For example here are the Sysprep commands: JoinDomain=xxxxx DomainAdmin=xxxxx DomainAdminPassword=xxxxxx MachineObjectou="OU=Computers,OU=VDI,DC=Domain,DC=int" Is there a way to edit the answer file generated with the customization tool in VC or is it possible to edit the XML or anything else to do so? Importing the sysprep.inf file has the disadvantage of not being able to use the VC specific settings in the customization wizard and will not work for our purposes. Thanks Sergio
