I am following a similar process right now to try and isolate which optimization or optimizations are preventing Office activations from occurring. If I find it, I will reply to this thread.

We are unable to activate Microsoft Office 365 apps (now called Microsoft Apps for Enterprise) after running the VMware Optimization Tool with the latest "Windows 10 1809-2004-Server 2019" template version 5.22. If I roll back the optimizations in the tool it does not resolve the issue but if I restore a snapshot prior to running the tool for the first time, I am able to activate. I have followed the instructions in the Best Practices for Delivering Microsoft Office 365 in VMware Horizon 7 document and I have tried with both normal activation and "Shared Computer Activation" but both pop up the same error immediately after trying to sign in: We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later. Does anyone know which specific options in the optimization template cause this?

We are running Horizon 7.10 with App Volumes 2.18, DEM 9.9 and Instant Clone desktops. I created an App Volumes writable template with a snapvol.cfg which only virtualizes a single directory, C:\AppVolumes, and I'm using that to hold the Outlook OST cache and OneDrive. Outlook works well but OneDrive with Files on Demand does not. If a user tries to open a file that isn't in cache, they get error 0x800701085 (the cloud operation was unsuccessful) while the file downloads in the background. If they click "Try Again" or "Skip", the file will open successfully. If you have Explorer open during this process, you will see the file with a grey X icon disappear briefly and reappear without a grey X. Has anyone else seen this before or do you have other recommendations for using OneDrive with Instant Clones and App Volumes?

This workaround hasn't worked for me. I added the following to my snapvol.cfg in my writable app volume but it doesn't appear to have had an effect. The svchost process associated with the AppReadiness service still uses a consistent 30% CPU. I submitted a case with VMware last week but they have not yet reached out to me.
