Ok...part of the issue resolved. when uploading the IDP metadata to the UAG I had "Always force SAML auth" ON.  Re uploaded to the metadata file with that optioned turned off and not the option to "stay signed in" is working properly.  However, still getting the second pormpt to logon from the Horizon Cleint but I think my staff can deal with that for now.  I am assuming TrueSSO is needed to for that.

Hello, We are seeing a similar situation with the duplicate authentication.  One for O365/MFA, and then again when Horizon Client launches.  We do have our UAG set to "match windows logon" but this just auto populates the user name field of the view cleint.  They still need to enter in their password again. Is implementing TrueSSO the only way around this? Also, what we have started to see since we have recently upgraded our UAGs to 2103, is that the option from Azure/O365/MFA auth to stay signed in, and don't show again is no longer sticking. We are going to try and down grade our UAG and see if that is the cause for this.

We have a large VDi environment running NVIDIA T4 cards.  After monitoring GPU usage we ended up increasing all our virtual desktops from 1G profile to a 2G profile.  This has helped performance in CADD Applications.  Even when the VM was sitting idle, no CADD applications running, we were observing 1G of GPU being used inside the guest OS. We have not experienced the Teams issue you have reported but you might want to play with the gpu profiles or some of the group policy settings that are bundled with Horizon View if you are applying any to the VMs.  Are you seeing this issue while using blast protocol or PCoIP?

Hello, My organization has been utilizing Horizon View and enabling employees to remotely access their physical workstation that resides in the office.  We have installed the view agent (v2103-8.2.0-17771933) on their workstation and have added their workstation to a connection server.  Unlike our vGPU enabled virtual workstation environment, we are not applying any "Horizon View" specific Group Policy settings to the physical workstations.  Things seems to be working well.  However, I am would like to know if their are benefits or optimization opportunities if we do apply any of the Horizon Extra Bundled Group Policy settings to these physical workstations.  Employees do work in the office and remotely so just trying to find a good balance of performance when outside of the office. Appreciate any feedback on how others are approaching this within their organization and hybrid type work environment. Thank You

Hello, Quick overview of my Horizon View cluster environment which contains 4 identical host: UCSC-C240-M5SX (2) NVIDIA Tesla T4 GPU in each host ESXi - 7.0.1, 17168206 ESXi VIB from NVIDA - 450.89 I am able to configure a VM with vGPU resources and when I run "nvidia-smi" I see the allocation and all appears to be working as expected inside of the VM.  However, when I attempt a live vmotion I get the following error:   One or more devices (pciPassthru0) required by VM are not available on host. If I shutdown the VM, move it and power it on everything is fine.  I am seeing that the X.Org service is crashing on the host I am trying to move the VM to after a few minutes of it running.  If that service remains running (which its not), I am able to provide live vmotion of VMs with vgpu resources assigned. I noticed that the X.Org service is stopped and will not start on the other host in the cluster as well.  I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the VIB which has not helped.  I opened a case with VMware and the tech said all the logs I sent look good.  We have a session tomorrow to further troubleshoot but I am at a loss right now.  In the past, when the X.Org service would not start, it was related to the VIB and it needing to be re-installed. If anyone is running a similar configuration I am interested in any support that can be provided. Thank you

iForbes, Thank you for the response. After deploying via Powershell everything seemed to go pretty smoothly.  I did run into an issue with the UAG version 3.1.0 not picking up my static routes from the .ini file.  After I downloaded and deployed UAG 3.1.1 all my routes appeared when running the route -n via the UAG console view. Thank you again.

I am looking to deploy a 2NIC UAG 3.1 to replace my security server. During the initial deployment of the OVF deployment properties, it wants the following inputs.  These are the first 3 inputs in the list. DNS Servers Gateway Netmask Are these for the Internet facing interface or the Mgmt/Backend Interface? Also, would anyone be able to post a sample of the custom routes needed for NIC1 and NIC2 along with the forwarding rules?  I realize this will be based on what IP settings I am using but just wanting to understand it a bit more by seeing an example. When I initially deployed it without inputting the routes and forwarding settings, I was able to access the UAG mgmt interface internally and config the connection settings back to my Connection server, but when I attempted to connect from the outside using a client I was getting a timeout.  Monitoring the firewall I could observe the internet facing interface getting hit, but nothing after that.  I am assuming I need some type of routes on the UAG configure to pass the traffic from the Internet to the MGMT/Backend interface within the UAG regardless of my firewall rules. If some one could provide a sample I could following that would be helpful.

Hello, We are in the process of evaluating RDSH Application pools in View 7.3.1.  We have been able to successfully publish application and launch them from both View Client and HTML. What I am looking for assistance is on, when a user launches the application they currently only see the C drive of the server that is hosting the application. 1.  I would like to hide the C drive of the server hosting the RDSH application 2.  Users launching the RDSH applications are not getting assigned their network mapped drives.  We have multiple sites and utilize GPO applied at the site level to apply drive mappings based on the users home office.  Since our View environment is hosted at our HQ office, I would like to provide users with the same set of drive mappings they see for their home office when they login.  I was able to add my network drives to my Horizon Client but I was hoping to do something via GPO applied to the OU I have my RDSH servers sitting in. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hello, Is there a limit to the number of vGPU Desktops pools in View 7.1.0? I am attempting to create a Manual VM Pool for use with NVIDIA GRID VGPU.  I have selected the 3D Rendering Option, however when I got to select the VMs to add to the pool they are not appearing in the list.  If I select "show all virtual machines", the VM appears in the list but has an alert on it:  "NVIDIA GRID GPU support does not match desktop setting" Here is the odd thing, I have an existing pool with the EXACT same pool settings, just different user access assignment, and I am able to add that VM to the pool without any issues. I am hoping someone could shed some light on this issue. Thank You

Hello, We are running View 7.1.0 build 5170113 and have a group of VMs utilizing vGPU via NVidia GRID K1 and K2 cards. In efforts to get some additional performance for our remote users we are looking optimize the Blast traffic.  In doing so, the only way we can see the optimization happing on the Riverbed side is if we turn off the H.264 option on the Horizon Client side (4.4.0 build 5171611). We see some pretty good optimization on initial login of the VM, close to 71%, however after the 3D application is launched the and the work begins we are only see around a 5-6% optimization. So my question is, it is worth attempting to optimize the traffic.  We are still testing and waiting for feed back from users to see if they are seeing a difference in performance. Thought or comments appreciated.

Also, I decided to run a FurMark test on one of them and notice it was only getting around 9FPS.  I was expecting something a bit higher than this.  I was also monitoring the GPU inside of the VM session using GPU-Z and noticed that the gpu load did not move past 0%.  However, while monitoring the host using nvidia-smi I observed one of the cores on the K1 card went to 99%.  I am not sure if GPU-Z is properly detecting the furmark workload during the test or not.  Also, while monitoring the the gpu load via GPU-Z while in a CAD application, the GPU-load does not budge either.  If their are other tools to monitor the GPU load inside the guest VM I would be excited to hear about them. Thank you for any additional details anyone can provide. Cheers

Hello, Thank you for the response. Interesting enough we have notice the CPU usage vs the GPU usage with Autodesk Plant 3D 2016 application.  CPU usage was a lot higher on the CPU vs the vGPU.  We noticed this on physical machines as well. I would think reducing the vCPU count from 4-2 would help in situations where your CPU Ready time was high.  We were at 2vCPU and we increased it to 4 vCPU which actually helped a little, without increasing the CPU Ready time by much. We are primarily a Autodesk shop using products like Plant 3D, Revit, Civil 3D, Recap.

Hello, We have been running Horizon View 6 with vGPU enable (K1 and K2 cards) to support our CAD/Engineering team and we continue to get complaints that the 3D/Graphic performance isn't up to par. We have tried various GPO settings to see if we can get the performance out of these VMs utilizing the PCoIP protocol..  We have plenty of resources for the VMs to access, however the users who are connecting are on a 6MB MPLS network. VMs are configured with K160 and K260 profiles. In efforts to see if I could improve performance, I setup View 7 with the Blast Extreme protocol to see that would help vs. PCoIP.  A couple of the users informed it was about the same for graphic performance, but they noticed an improvement in file open times (not sure about that). I keep coming across YouTube videos of 4K videos being played over Blast Extreme but to me that is not a big deal.  My engineers need to navigate, rotate, walkthrough various 3D models.  Are there "optimal" GPO setting for Blast Extreme Protocol I need to be adjusting based on the bandwidth available to the users?  The site where the VMs are hosted at have a 100MB MPLS connection.  I am wondering too if their is something inside the NVIDIA Control Panel for the driver that needs some tweeking as well. Also, I was under the impress that the Blast Extreme protocol went over the 443 port and not 8443.  Is this true? Greatly appreciate any direction, suggestion and support. Thank You

Thank you for the response. We do have some view host that do have a K2 card installed.  You make a great point on the K1 vs the K2.  I will further troubleshoot performance and see what VM is using what host GPU card and see if I can get the users to try the performance of both.  Bumping up the VMs vCPU count from 2 to 4 and changing the GPU profile from 1GB to 2GB has help a little. Thank you again for the feedback.

Hi Randy, Thanks for the info.  I think I will play around with these options a bit more as you suggested and see what comes of it.  We also utilize Riverbeds in our environment so I may looking see what optimization capabilities they can do for the PCoIP traffic.  In addition, look at applying some QoS settings for this traffic as well.  Currently our VoIP traffic is at the top of the list but I don't think we have any QoS setting for the View traffic. Thanks for the response.

Thank you for the response.  We have used the APEX cards in the past.  I may look at re-implementing them again and see if they help.  I greatly appreciate the feedback. I did make some adjustments to the VMs.  Bumped them from 2vCPUs to 4 and upped the GPU profile from 1GB to 2GB.  A few of the users have said they have noticed an improvement. Thank You

Looking forward to suggestions from the community on helping improve my users experience utilizing 3D applications via VMware View.  I have also been looking at upgrading to View 7 to see if the Blast Protocol would provide better performance over the traditional PCoIP protocol. Thank You

Hello, After upgrading my horizon view client from 3.1 to 4.0.1 build-3698521, I am now receiving the following error when attempting to connect to my view environment locally. The connection Server authentication failed.  The tunnel server presented a certificate that didn't match the expected certificate. Nothing in my environment has changed on the connection/security server and I am still able to access externally and was able to connect locally just prior to upgrading to 4.0.1.  I have had another associate try the upgrade and he is not having the issue I am seeing.  I attempted to uninstall the 4.0.1 client and do a fresh install but that same error occurred. Any thoughts or suggestions on this one?  I have a feeling their is a local cert issue on my machine somewhere. Thank You

Hello, I have seem this issues in previous version of Horizon View and I am now seeing it with my 6.2 deployment.  I am in an environment with relatively low latency network with a large incoming pipe to connect to the view environment.  However I am seeing the following issues both from local VM access and remote VM Access. 1.  On initial connection to the VM, the screen will appear black for a few seconds.  Once the desktop appears for the user to logon, the mouse function is unavailable so the user has to hit "enter" on the keyboard to accept the computer policy to proceed to the logon process.  Once logged in the mouse appears and functional.  If I resize the Horizon View Client Window, by clicking and stretching it, the mouse will appear once the screen refreshes and resizes itself. 2.  In IE, Word, Outlook, or any other program or window, even File Explorer, that requires scrolling up and down, if you scroll too fast up/down the entire display will freeze for 8-10 seconds then unfreeze and the return to normal where you can continue to scroll up and down.  In some instances the screen will go black then return to normal. I have different pools setup for both vGPU and standard SVGA VMs and I see the same issues in both pools.  We have a large user base that relies heavily on the vGPU VMs and I continue to struggle to fine a solution to the two issues above.  I have been trying to find the optimal PCoIP session variables that I control via Group Policy, but it seems like I cannot get these issues to go away. My current PCoIP Group Policy valies are: Image Cache Size = 500 MB Min Image Quaulity = 50 Max Initial Image Quality = 100 Max Frame Rate = 60 Use Image setting from zero Cleint = Disabled PCoIP Session Bandwidth Floor = 128. Turn-Off Build-to-Lossless Feature = ENABLED (so yes, build-to-loss is turned off)  This did not appear to have an impact on VM performance on or off. View Build:  6.2.0-3005368 View Agent:  6.2.0.3005627 Greatly appreciate any feedback or suggestions to assist me in troubleshooting these issues. Thank You
