Regarding the error Provisioning error occurred for Machine : Refit operation resync failed, has anyone experienced this error. I've had a look at a few other threads on other sites, and a VMware KB article, none of which offered a solid explanation. If I do a recompose operation, the linked clone(s) eventually ends up in an Error state with the above in the Error log. The desktop(s) then have to be recomposed again, and this is successful on the 2nd attempt. Has anyone experienced this error, and if so, how was it resolved?

When using the Horizon View Client 3.3 or above, if adding the connection server to the available servers just by it's name, it is not possible to launch this without an error being produced advising that a network error has occurred. It works fine is you use the FQDN or the IP address of the connection server. This is also not an issue with older versions of the software (i.e. the View Client 5.2.1). I did read that there was an issue with the 2.2. release of the Horizon View Client however that was resolved. Has anyone else encountered this, or aware of the difference between versions that explains this.

This is a slightly odd issue. Has anyone had any previous experience of user's being reassigned automatically to linked clone desktops they have been removed from? I have 2 instances now of users having been unassigned from a desktop, in one case their entitlement for the pool was removed as their new desktop was in a different pool, their roaming profile removed from the linked clone desktop, and then subsequently they have appeared re-assigned to that desktop in Horizon View Administrator (as well as still being assigned to their new desktop). I have never noticed this issue occurring before. Many Thanks

I think the explanation for the issue I am having I've actually answered myself. Further digging has produced a KB article confirming that Windows 2012 is not supported for the purpose of Persona Management so that may be the crux of the problem.

I'm just looking to ask a quick question in case anyone can point out something obvious I might be missing. Having added a new VMWare instance in a 3rd site, I've also added an additional file server in that 3rd site to which user's roaming profiles are DFS replicated. The DFS replication between the 3 file servers works fine. The issue is that when logged onto linked clone desktops in the new 3rd site, changes made on those desktops are not replicated back to the new file server. This works fine from the linked clone desktops in the other 2 sites to their respective file servers. The local GP settings on the linked clone desktops in the 3rd site are identical to those in the other 2 sites. The differences involved are that the additional file server is a Windows 2012 R2, whereas the file servers in the other 2 sites are both 2008 R2, the View instance is 6.0 rather than 5.2, and the View Agent on the linked clones is 5.3.1 rather than 5.2.0. If there isn't an obvious error I've made, I will scrub the 3rd file server, and put a 2008 R2 server in its place.

Hello I have the following error being logged repeatedly on the event log of the Horizon View Administrator - Provisioning error occurred on Pool because of a configuration problem. This is logged repeatedly in relation to 2 different pools, although there are no provisioning tasks that either pool should be trying to run. However if I assign all available desktops to accounts, it does not automatically power on a Provisioned desktop as it should. A 3rd pool however is not provisioning new desktops when it should, although there is no error in the event log relating to this specific pool. I have checked through the following KB article - http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1027311, and had a look through the logs on the connection server without being able to specifically determine the root cause of the configuration problem or if it can be resolved. If anyone can point me in the right direction. Many Thanks
At least I would if I could. I don't have the function to mark the question as answered. I'm assuming because of the age of the call this is not possible.
Yes, my apologies. The resolution as advised by Gaurav_Baghla, rectified the issue. I will update the call accordingly.
Hello I’m afraid the solution to this has not yet been found. I am considering starting from scratch with this vCenter instance, as can it get it work no problem in another. Regards
It is 5.3 I have and confirmed services are running. I’m re-installing again, in case there’s something obvious that I’ve overlooked.
Thanks for your suggestions.

When attempting to add a vCenter server within the View Horizon Administrator, am receiving an internal view composer error. Presuming there is a straightforward explanation for this, have not encountered this issue at previous sites. I have ensured that the Connection server is joined to the domain. I have ensured that the user has correctly configured permissions. I have ensured that the DNS server has a record for the Connection server and vCenter Server. The domain and user name are being entered in the correct format. Many Thanks

At the moment the issue is still outstanding. A full power down cannot take place until the weekend due to the impact it will have on the end users. This will be done this weekend, and I will update on Tuesday as Friday and Monday are bank holidays.
I can confirm I have checked re: the faulty network setting, firewall issue or DNS problem, and confirm these are in order.

In VMWare Horizon View Administrator we are currently seeing events being logged continuously relating to vCenter at address being temporarily disabled and almost immediately afterward vCenter at address is enabled. vCenter at address ${VCAddress} has been temporarily disabled vCenter at address ${VCAddress} has been enabled I can find little about these events other than they exist from the documentation library. Are they related to an account problem? If anyone can advise. Many Thanks
Many Thanks for this

I am trying to delete a linked clone (and the pool that linked clone is in). However, it has been advising that is deleting for over 12 hours now. I think the problem stems from the fact someone tried to log into this VM before it had finished fully provisioning. The only other VM in the pool deleted from Horizon View without an argument. Is there any other way to delete this VM? Cheers

We have drives mapped from the linked clone virtual machines to the local host PC's CD/DVD drive. When viewing the contents of a CD, if you remove that CD and insert another and you then open the shortcut, it does not update the Explorer window to show the content of the new disk. It is as if has been cached. If you dis- and re-connect the drive mapping it updates, but not otherwise, not even refreshing. Is this a known issue? Many Thanks
