Interesting question, I guess that it could be monitored with vROPs for Horizon but on the Horizon Agent side not on the Horizon Client. With vROPs for Horizon you can measure user experience. There are default dashboards included in vROPs and also you could create alarms to get notified when some value, for example blast latency, goes beyond a limit.

Hi all, does anyone has a guide for NSX-V to configure load balancing for Connection Server ? ( For Internal connections and gateways disabled). We can not use "Source IP" as persistence method because a NAT and we are unable to configure it with "Cookie JSSESSIONID" it asks for credentials twice. Thank you.

Hi guys, I have a project to run RHEL8 desktops in Horizon and wondering what are the desktop type availables. According to the documentation we can deploy the following types: 1. Manual desktop pool ( Floating or dedicated ) 2. Automated: a) Full clones (Floating or dedicated ) b) Instant Clones ( Only floating) For instant clones, the offline domain join has to be set up with Samba. My question is for automated full clones, how are you setting up AD integration with full virtual machines ? Is there any requirements ?
Hi BenFB, we cannot use source IP because we have a SNAT rule. Asking for more public ips for multiple VIP method will take time and multiple ports will not be authorised by security team.
Hi, it is supported using SSL offload in the load balancer for external connections in front of the UAG to be able to use cookie persistence instead of source ip ? Thank you.

Great post indeed ! Quick question more related to networking/load balancing than UAG-> "The flow for the secondary protocols such as the display protocols must go through UAG" How is that possible ? I mean, is this traffic passing trough the load balancer or the connection is direct from Horizon Client to external IP of UAG ? In case of natting the public IP, the traffic ( pcoip/blast) flow from the external firewall to the UAG or to the load balancer ? Thank you.

Hi, I have some questions regarding instant clones, hopefully someone could help: 1- Is there any recommendation in the number of instant clones per replica ? I mean the size of the pool when using different datastores for instant clones and replica disk. 2- Is there any recommendation in the number of instant clones per datastore ? It used to be 128 for linked clones, but cannot find anything specific for instant clones. 3- Is it supported using the same golden to create different instant clones pools ? Thank you.

Hi, I have deployed UAG3.0 using the powershell script as a reverse proxy to use with vIDM, internally it works. But when accessing through UAG I get a "Request Failed, contact your IT Administrator" error when accessing vIDM user portal. The "New End user portal UI" is already enable. Internal traffic is recommended to go from Horizon Client to VDI Agent directly, without gateway configured on the connection servers. When you are using Security servers, you have to pair connection server with them and enable all the gateways for external access, so you cannot point to the internal connection servers for that reason. I recommend you using Access point instead of Security Servers, it does not need to be paired and gateways are disabled on the connection servers.
