Thanks for all the responses. In the end I broke the VM and couldn’t get back into to so I ditched it and started again. I’m now using the W11 Arm insider release with the VM Tech Preview. Oddly, it’s running perfectly, I had all sorts of issues with black blocks on the screen and things not working properly nut this is working amazingly well …and I was able to activate it with my (newly purchased) OEM license. It’s also now spreading across my two screens perfectly - I thought that wasn’t possible on ARM!
Thanks.  I think I need to start again as I’ve no idea what the password is - I’ve tried all my regular ones but it’s not having it. its not too much of a big deal as I keep all my files in One... See more...

Hi, I've been running VM Fusion with W11 Arm for a couple of weeks and all seemed ok but with a few niggles (can't activate windows). I tried downloading the Tech Preview and it seemed to run a bit smoother but I had some problems with black screens when switching programs and highlighting ranges in Excel. I was in the middle of sitting a mock exam (Financial Modelling so Excel PC works better than Excel Mac). I thought I'd switch from the Tech Preview back to the regular Fusion but when I tried to open the VM I got a message saying that the VM is encrypted and I need to enter a password - I've tried all the likely passwords but nothing is working. Is there any way to get in without the password or do I need to create a new VM? I'm glad it didn't happen in the real exam - I did have to finish the mock exam in Excel Mac though!
Thanks - I'll check it out.

Hi, Not sure if this is in the right group... I'm trying to activate my Windows 11 Arm. I bought an OEM license but the key doesn't work. What's the best way to go about this? ...do I need to call MS to get this working or is there another issue? I'm on the MS Insider program - would be better to download an insider version?
Thanks for your reply.  I did the sensible thing and uninstalled Office and re-installed it and seems to be working fine now - in fact it seems to be running a bit quicker!

Hi, I use a MacBook Pro for work and we use Citrix to provide a Windows environment but I have an exam coming up and I don't want to log in to the work environment to run Excel. The Mac version of Excel doesn't have all the feature that I use so I'm experimenting with VM/Parallels in order to get a stable version of Windows Excel 365 running on my Mac. So far VM has been great, I'm running W11 Home but I've found that Excel has trouble loading files from the Mac and it will not load VBA editor or install a ]n Add In without crashing. I'm also finding I get black boxes appear on the spreadsheet after using it for a while - the black boxes disappear if I select over them. It's a 2020 MacBook Pro M1 with 16GB Ram - I've got VM set to use 10GB ram and all other VM setting are default. Any advice would be great! Also, just as an aside, is it true that there is no Unity or multi screen support for Arm Macs?
