OK, I seem to have found the solution and gotten it working. Solution at the link below. https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/74650

OK, so I have uninstalled the "Official" bundled tools and installed the open-vm-tools from the Manjaro repo. Shared folders has now stopped working and in the settings for the VM under shared folders, I now see this... On a plus side, copy/paste and file drag/drop are now working though.  What do I need to do to make shared folders work? Thanks, FS

Oh... Sorry. I'm using a mixture currently of Manjaro and Pop_OS. But mainly Manjaro now. When I had open-vm-tools installed, the Fusion settings for the VM was giving me warning that certain things wouldn't be available without the "Official VMware Tools" I will re-install open-vm-tools and give it another look. Maybe I was overlooking something? The shared folder functionality was definately one of the things there were warnings about in the settings for the VM. There was a couple of other too but since installed the bundled "Official" tools the warning went away so I will have to check again.

Hi, Thanks. I'm aware of open-vm-tools. But open-vm-tools lacks certain functionality that I need. Shared folders for example, which I why I need to use the official tools. I have the official tools installed and for the most part they work but I am having slight problems with things like copy/paste which don't seem to work and Bluetooth passthrough.

Hi all, Are the official tools (VMware Tools), still supported on Linux. The tools that are bundled with the Fusion app... I can't get copy/paste and file drag/drop to work even though it is enabled. And I also can't get Bluetooth devices through to the VM. Again, it is enabled. Thanks, FS

Hi all, Has anyone heard anything about the release of VMware Fusion 13, assuming there is going to be a release at all? Does anyone know if there are any current technical previews available? I am running macOS Monterey and while for the most part Fusion runs, there are a few slight issues/glitches which I am hoping will be fixed in the next update, again assuming there is going to be one. And before anyone jumps on the "it's still in beta so what do expect line"... Yes, I am well aware that Monterey is still in beta, and I am well aware that the official line from VMware would probably be that they don't support beta releases of macOS. But macOS Monterey public beta has been out for a while now, is on its 6th iteration, and is due to be released in the next month or so. So you would think VMware must have an update in the works to fully support Monterey before the official release. Furthermore, Parallels Desktop released its yearly update near on a month ago with full support for Monterey.   FS

Should the official VMware Tools for Linux not still work correctly though? Are the official tools for Linux bundled with Fusion still fully supported by VMware?  I have the official tools installed in Linux. Manjaro in my case. The reason I went with the official tools over open-vm-tools is that I need features that only the official tools can provide (supposedly). Mainly folder sharing. My understanding is that this is not possible with open-vm-tools. However, with the official tools, while things do work for the most part. I can't get file/folder drag/drop or copy/paste to work. I have it enabled in the settings for the VM. Any ideas what the issue could be? Thanks, FS
