I build an automated shell- script to help download, extract and build the VMWARE `vmnet` and `vmmon` files. Running the script should fix the issue. The link also contains the instructions to do this. Try it here -> vmware-host-modules-builder-cli  and create an issue if you encounter any problems.

VMWARE closes after refocusing to host in linux

My vmware closes randomly after refocusing on the host. This happens immediately I click outside the vmware window.Below is what I have tried before which works at times though not frequently. Removing pclslot lines in the windows vmx file. Deleting log files in the vmx directory. Deleting current sessions lck files. The guest OS is windows 10 in Pop OS. I have also had the same problem virtualizing windows in other Debian distros including Debian OS, Ubuntu and Kali.   The guest has the following config. Ram is 5.4 processors 2 Storage 250 gb ssd nvme Network - Bridged (Automatic)

Vmware keeps disappearing after focusing back to host I am using VMware® Workstation 16 Pro 16.1.1 build-17801498 in Kali Linux as the host and windows as the guest. It works fine when I am in full screen or exclusive mode. When I focus back to host, Vmware disappears and each time I launch it again and try to focus into the guest OS, It disappears again and again. I can only use it in exclusive and full screen if at all I don't focus onto the host. I used to fix this temporarily by deleting the pcislots in the vmx but nowadays it does not work. This is so frustrating.
