Latest  update 16.2.1. If you minimize and then restore the Workstation window (with a VM running) you get scroll bars. Select View/Fit Window now means the scroll bars disappear. Next time you minimize/restore the Workstation window the scroll bars  doesn't appear.

VMware Workstation, latest edition. Every time I start a virtual machine (Windows 10) I have to do a View -> Autosize -> Autofit Window off and then on again to remove scroll bars in the window. It opens up fine first time, but after I minimize the window and then normalize the window again the scroll bars comes on. Then I do the procedure above and the scroll bars goes away, and the scroll bars stay away after that (I can do minimize/normalize again without scroll bars coming back). My settings are View->Autosize->Center guest and View->Autosize->Autofit Window on. My VMware window is almost stretched to the top and bottom of my Windows 10 screen size.
