Both of those lines are present in my vmx file so that is not the issue. In addition to enabling thinprint I believe you also have to install the virtual printer application. Since I couldn't do this from the menu I mounted the iso where the installer could be found and tried to run it from there. Based on the error I got I can only conclude that the install won't work in a 32bit guest. Thanks for you help.

I could have just told you that I had enabled thinprint, I thought a screenshot was better. Sorry if that is not the case. I do know what a vmx file is but if I didn't, I am not sure why I wouldn't ask. My issue is that I have followed (or tried to) all the steps to enable virtual printing but as previously stated (and shown in a screenshot) my menu does not have the choice it is supposed to have to install a virtual printer. What would be helpful is a suggestion on why that might be.

Update to my request.. This is what I have done so far: Enabled virtual printing on the host Found a post that said I needed to install the virtual printer application via Player--> Manage-->Install Virtual Printer This choice does not exist for me, here is what my menu looks like: So I tried to run the virtual printer installer manually from the iso and I get this: I am hoping this additional information will lead to a response, thanks.

Running VMware Workstation Player 16. Host is Windows 10. Guest OS is Windows XP Pro. I cannot figure out how to print from within the guest OS. A printer is supposedly connected and on (according to the virtual machine settings) but no printers are seen in any applications. I don't know what else is needed to make the host printers available to the quest. Appreciate any insight.

I am hoping this is the correct place for this question. I am new at this so my apologies in advance if necessary. I have VMWare Workstation Player version 14.1 installed on a Windows 10 machine with one guest operating system (XP Professional if it makes any difference). I assume I should be upgrading to a newer version. Can this be done without re-installing the existing guest operating system and other programs on the existing VM? This may seem obvious but I do not want to lose my existing functionality, appreciate any advice.
