Hi Miro, I was actually looking for the same information. In my case I need to run Docker for Windows. It seems it is not possible to run VMware Workstation on Windows with the Hyper-V feature on. And what's worse, they don't seem to be working on a solution. Time to change to a different virtualization product? It seems inevitable. I found this thread to be informative. VMWare workstation 15 and Hyper-V / Credential Guard Compatibility Of course if you happen to find information that a solution is on the horizon then I'd like to know.

Hi, I have a Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS guest VM on my Windows 10 Pro host. I reinstalled the latest vmware tools for my Workstation Pro 14.1.7 build-12989993. After installation is shut down the guest OS. I want to start the VM again, but I only see a black screen no matter how long I wait. I also cannot stop the VM anymore saying that the VM is busy. I have to restart my entire host before I can do anything with the VM again. I tried to reboot many times, but I cannot start the VM anymore. Is there any way to fix this? These are the lost lines of the vmware.log 2019-08-19T12:58:52.502+02:00| vmx| I125: VUsbUpdateVigorFieldsAndAutoconnect: New set of 3 USB devices 2019-08-19T12:58:52.502+02:00| vmx| I125: USB: Found device [name:Intel(R)\ Wireless\ Bluetooth(R) vid:8087 pid:0025 path:1/1/4 speed:full family:wireless, bluetooth instanceId:USB\\VID_8087&PID_0025\\8&1EA3A3F6&0&5 arbRuntimeKey:2 version:3] 2019-08-19T12:58:52.502+02:00| vmx| I125: USB: Found device [name:ASUSTek\ AURA\ LED\ Controller vid:0b05 pid:18f3 path:1/1/5 speed:full family:vendor, hid instanceId:USB\\VID_0B05&PID_18F3\\9876543210 serialnum:9876543210 arbRuntimeKey:3 version:3] 2019-08-19T12:58:52.502+02:00| vmx| I125: USB: Found device [name:Virtual\ Bluetooth\ Adapter vid:0e0f pid:0008 speed:full family:wireless, bluetooth virtPath:usb:2 deviceType:virtual-bluetooth info:0000001 version:3], connected to usb:1 port 0. 2019-08-19T12:59:51.806+02:00| vmx| I125: GuestRpcSendTimedOut: message to toolbox-dnd timed out. 2019-08-19T13:01:51.955+02:00| vmx| I125: GuestRpcSendTimedOut: message to toolbox timed out. 2019-08-19T13:01:51.962+02:00| vmx| I125: Vix: [3740 guestCommands.c:1947]: Error VIX_E_TOOLS_NOT_RUNNING in VMAutomationTranslateGuestRpcError(): VMware Tools are not running in the guest

Okay.... since I have suspended and resumed the virtual machine once, the network now just seems to work. Even though I have not changed anything. And I have been having these network problems for days. Computers are strange things. I do still have instability problems with VMware Workstation, but I'll create a separate topic for that. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Was it helpful? Hi Alessandro, I have already used the Virtual Network Editor to make sure the correct network card is selected. Also note that not only bridged, but also NAT and Host-only network do not work. I stop and start the VM between every change.

Hi, I have installed a new PC and copied my vmware virtual machine to it. Unfortunately I am not able to get any network connections working in the guest OS. ifconfig only shows the loopback network. I tried both Bridged, NAT and Host-only. I already used the Virtual Network editor to make sure bridged uses the correct adapter on the host. But since NAT and Host-only also doesn't work I think something else is wrong, but I have no clue what I could do. The host OS is using a WiFi adapter on the motherboard. I use VMware Workstation Pro 14.1.7 build-12989993 My host OS is Windows 10 Pro. My guest OS is Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS I would very much appreciate any help.
