Both: Win10 & Win11. There was never problem with that, any case. But on vmware, When I started using vmware, I noticed that searching in Outlook gave no results. Initially I thought it needed time for indexing. But after about a week I started digging and noticed this inconsistency and the lack of Outlook in the Windows indexing settings. Believe me, I read probably everything that was available on the Internet, I tested everything that was available: and nothing. Please see any common PC/laptop, there is no problem. I would suspect Win & arm....

Indexing was in progress, but now is completed (screens are form the 3rd vm, nevertheless on 2 others vms is also completed). It doesn't matter unfortunately But when you open Windows -> settings ......-> indexing, do you see Outlook on the list ? Window opened from windows settings, not from Outlook

great tutorial, can be useful for all But I have one unsolved problem with Outlook (inside the Windows installed): 1) open Outlook -> File -> Options -> Search -> index options. You can find system window (indexing) WITH Outlook present 2) now, I open Windows settings -> Privacy -> .... (the same system window opens) -> Outlook is NOT present         1) and 2) are attached in screens (pdf-s).  Modifying, "show all localizations", sfs/scannow. DISM/....../restorehealth, rebuilding index - nothing helps (tried all given in all google forums, read thousands of pages....) The only workaround is to exclude (prevent Outlook searching) thru Regedit by adding the key. In my couple of mailboxes I have about 100 k of emails each, which I work with on daily basis (I am a lawyer), I have to search them often, therefore I need using Windows search in Outlook (not native searching in Outlook with workaround by Regedit key because it lasts centuries). I am confused and desperate, because it is my 3rd attempt: 1) with clean install vhdx converted to vmdk (Win11 DEV) downloaded form MS official (insider_preview) 2) with clean install from UUPDUMP.net (Win11 DEV) (insider_preview) (ISO prepared in Windows) 3) and now - according to this tutorial, Win11 ISO downloaded thru CrystalFetch (official release, not insider) Currently I have simultaneously 3 vm's - the same problem on each [vmware fusion techpreview Professional Version e.x.p (22068932), Macbook Pro M1/16/1TB, Sonoma but under Ventura it was the same] The conclusion would be, that Win-guest on Mac-ARM not handling windows search in Oultook. In normal PC there is always no problem. Thank you anybody to check, to confirm the problem, and to solve the problem (hint) which I fight with since February.... 

Paul (Technogeezer), thank you for your time and support In February 2023, I didn't know about UUP Dump (which is a pity) and I signed up for the Microsoft Insiders program, downloading the shared version of Win 11. Initially, it was a simplified version (not DEV) - I don't remember the name. Then the downloaded version required conversion to the WMVare format (vmfs, while the downloaded version was probably vmdk or something - under Hyper-V anyway). After installation, it turned out that some functions did not work, e.g. Microsoft defender, RDP and others. So I downloaded it again - this time in the DEV version and these functions worked. Unfortunately, I could only download it in the ENG language version (MS did not provide any others) and I cannot change it now (unless a clean installation). Now why canary: I launched the environment in the DEV version on February 24, 2023 and noticed that until the beginning of April I did not received even a single Windows update (while on PCs there were 2 updates on the way). So I changed the ver preview Dev Channel to Canary - elevenforum.com/t/change-windows-insider-program-channel-in-windows-11.795/ Since then, there have been updates every now and then.... In addition, Outlook does not work at all time Windows Search function: I've tried everything. Interestingly, Outlook -> options -> search: Outlook is in the list of system options, as is Onenote. If I close this window and open it again but through Windows Settings -> Pivacy -> searching... Outlook is not on the list, same as Onenote, rebuilding the index, advanced options and everything else, including office repair, does not help (I spent hours and read on forms of everything that was). I tried everything woshub.com/fix-outlook-2016-search-not-working/. It makes my work very difficult because the only workaround was turning off Windows search through the registry https://winaero.com/a-search-bug-prevents -windows-11-from-indexing-outlook-mail/ but now the search in Oultook takes forever.... I don't know if it's related to the fact that I have the initially downloaded language version of Windows 11 in the ENG version, and I switched to Polish in the settings (because that's the language I use). I hoped that the new versions of Canary would help, because each new version requires a new installation of Windows (windows_old directory is created). But nothing helps. Now when I try to download the ISO from UUP Dump, I can "replace" Windows but only if I lose data, which I do not want to do (re-installation and configuration of all programs takes about 1 day and 1 night). Perhaps the only solution is to download a clean installation immediately in the POL (not ENG) version from UUP Dump and install everything again. As for the BSOD, I changed VMware to Tech previwe, hoping that the BSOD would go away when switching from MS RDP to MacOS. Anyway, thank you for your suggestions, I really like virtual machines, I think it's the future, but I'm just learning this environment. For example, the installation of Win required a bypass via oobe\bypassnro and M Roy showed on YouTube that you can first install VMWare tools (then the Internet is available during Windows installation).

Technogeezer  thank you for comments answers are given below: 1) Macbook Pro 14", 16GB/1TB M1 2) yes, but I have been using canary since May, and up to the end of July everything was working properly 3) attached 4) I had Fusion 13 installed, swiched to Tech preview 2 weeks ago, hoping it will help, On Fusion 13 (stable, updated ver) it was also BSOD since August 5) true, but since the end of July there were 3 or 4 releases (big updates) and under all was BSOD 6) Tech was upgraded from a version that ran on Fusion 13 -> but please refer to 4) 7) no maybe it is sonoma fault, but I was working fine through the week or two on Sonoma in July....

similar problem. MacOS Sonoma - after one of the last updates (about since 2 weeks): Once VM Fusion running, I immediately switch into MS RDP (I need copy/paste between windows: it works fine in RDP not in VMWare, I also need intelligent cards get passed to Windows: in RDP works automatically, in VMware I have to check in options every time). When I shut down Windows after work from MS Rdp, then I switch to VMware for a while only to quit, every time it goes BSOD for a couple of secs then also shuts down.
