Hi Wil, Thanks for the suggestions.   The only thing I found was the 3D graphics memory was set to 1024MB.  I changed that to 8192MB but my error occurred again soon thereafter.  I did restart after making the change.   The only thing left was the VMware Tools so I uninstall them and reinstalled.  I thought that might have solved it since it was running without incident.  Well, at least for a few days until the error resurfaced once again. Ugghh.  I tried to turn off 3D acceleration but it just turns itself back on again.  Any other suggestions Thanks again   -- Howard
Wil, Thanks for the explanation.   Here are the VMware.log files. Howard

Thanks again Howard

Wil,  sorry for the late reply but I figure I'd wait until I experienced this issue again before providing my VMware.log.  Of course as it sometimes goes, post the issue and it doesn't occur again.   However, I did make one change that might have resolved it; at least thus far no errors since I posted here.  I found in Windows, under the advanced scan settings for my display that somehow custom scaling was set to 200%.  It says to enter a scaling size from 100-500% but in parenthesis it states: "not recommended".  I'm not sure how this got set so I removed the scaling all together and thus far things appear to be stable once again.   If it flairs up again; I'll be back.   Thank you for reaching out, I appreciate it.     -- Howard

Starting approximately 2-3 weeks ago VMware Fusion began generating the error: VMware Fusion detected an error and has to shutdown Windows.  I'm running Fusion Player 12.1.0 and Windows 10 build 19041.804.   The community has some posts on this issue but none that appear to be related to the latest versions of Windows & Fusion. Has anyone else been experiencing this or have any idea how to resolve?  I appreciate any suggestions that anyone might have.   Thank you   -- Howard
I down loaded the Fusion Player and applied the key.  That did it.  That was easy.   Thanks again for the response.

I've been a VM Fusion user since v5.  Recently I upgraded from v10 to v12, or so I thought.  I bought the v12 license on e-bay and since it installed with the key I thought it was legit.  Well today I needed support and found it was not a valid key.  So, since I'm now retired and only need Fusion for my personal use I would like to try Fusion Player.  I tried downloading Player and installing it thinking that process would downgrade my Pro version to Player but it didn't.  So it appears I probably have to uninstall the Pro and install Player but how do that without losing my VM's.  Can I safely copy my VM's from Pro to an alternative location, uninstall Pro, install Player and then copy my VM's back into Player?  If so, will Player recognize a copied VM from Pro since Pro is more advanced than Player? Suggestions and comments are most welcome. Thank you   -- Howard

Do I need to create a Mac OS partition in order to install Mojave in Fusion?  I wouldn’t think so but when the os install asks what drive to use for the install and the only drive is the one that contains my operative os, I get this feeling of concern or maybe I should simply say fear.  Thanks in advance for any input.

I accidentally reverted my system back to a snapshot which was the original install so I lost all my data, back some 10 months. However, I do have a three month Time Machine backup that I hope to recover from. I don't want to do a full disk restore but selectively restore my VM environment. What file components and what are their locations do I need to restore to have any chance in ..... of this working. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.... HJR
