Well switching to bridge in my case breaks everything I need to talk to local servers running on my Mac (for compilers). Just removing printing capabilities is a non-sens. I reverted back to 13.n from 13.5 and will stick to this version. This is non-sense. Also Wifi from within the VM is not a solution, all Airprint or WiFi printers do not offer as many printing options as the native printer driver. It's a subset of the printer capabilities.

Just upgraded and was able to download the new version!!!

I'm a developer myself. VMware's model for now is not subscription based. All minor updates are free and Fusion never stops working after a determined time (as long as the OS is compatible of course). 100% of my customers told me they hate subscriptions. It's a matter of trust and subscriptions are seen as back stabbing. Developers are not cheap and need to be paid, of course. Major upgrades should be paid but not imposed.  I don't rent my software, I buy it. Like my coffee. That's why the current model for VMWare Fusion is good (in my opinion).  I loyally bought all versions from 5 to 12Pro and am ready to pay for 13 that works on Ventura. I'm not ready to start paying a monthly fee that hides behind the biased idea that "it guaranties a stream of revenues to insure development otherwise the product would die". Adobe (who started what I think is the big scam), Microsoft, etc.. made billions per year without subscriptions for decades. How come?
And worse than subscription (rip off) model, moving to the Cloud...

From what I found on the web, the problem is not VMWare or the OS. But it happens only with RealTeak RTL8153 ethernet boards that we find everywhere (because they're cheap). All the high power work is handed to the Mac CPU. It looks like the RTL 8156 works much better as it has an onboard CPU to handle all the Ethernet traffic instead of outsourcing it to the Mac. Then VM_nat is not a problem.

Same for me. Even worse as after a while I lose all my Ethernet connections on my Macbook pro (native, not into the VMs). The IP is still correct, but I have to switch to WiFi to be able to connect to the Internet. Killing the vmnet-natd process stops the CPU overload and the fan spinning like crazy, but doesn't reset Ethernet connections Usually, the only thing I can do is to actually reboot the Mac to be able to get back online. Very frustrating. VMFusion Pro 12.2.1 Steve

I have a clean Big Sur install (not an upgrade) and no Accessibility set. It's not a beta version but 11.0.1 And Fusion still shows the problem. I have noticed that Microsoft Remote Desktop handles this correctly. Its own top menu bar is not overlapped by the macOS main menu bar. So it's possible to do this correctly.
Same problem for me. Your trick did it but it has to be addressed for the next update. It's not very convenient.

Hi, I had to fully reinstall macOS Catalina on my machine. Everything is fine, and I reinstalled VMWare Fusion without problems. The only thing I lost is that after opening any VM, the VMWare fusion in the Dock doesn't show the recent list anymore. It was very convenient to have direct access to the latest used machines with a right click without opening VMWare Fusion and go to the Library to launch a VM. Also, once in the library, the File > Open Recent... menu is always cleared, empty. Nothing seems to be memorized. Any idea how I can get this back? Thanks for any light Steve Professional Version 11.5.5 (16269456)

Hi, I have several VMs on my dual-screen Mac. Most of them start on my 2nd screen (right one), except one machine always starting on the left screen. I tried to move it to the second screen, without problems, but next time I launch it, it starts again on the left screen. Any way to tell a VM to start on a specific screen on a Mac? Comparing the .vmx files doesn't reveal any info about a screen preference at launch time. Any idea? Thanks for any light. Steve J.

Hi, I need my Windows 10 VM to be able to see the Logitech Universal Receiver usb dongle (so my universal Logitech keyboard can switch to Windows specific functionalities while in the machine). It looks like this is not possible from within VMWare Fusion 10.x Even if I tell it to share USB and BlueTooth devices. Is there any way to let my VMs see that receiver which is originally connect to my Mac? Thanks for any help. Steve J

Hi, I upgraded a Fusion 6 STD to 8 STD and installed it. My problem is that I had Fusion 7 PRO installed for cluster Linux VMs and installing version 8 just replaced version 7 which I absolutely need. Is there any way to have two versions, in my case, 7 PRO + 8 STD side by side? I have licenses for both products, they are not exclusives... Thanks for any help. Steve

Well, that did it. Even though my server on the Mac side was listing those addresses, I didn't actually see the point. The one I use now is 192.168.2.1 and it works whether I'm fully offline, over Wifi, over Ethernet. Way cool. You made my day! Thanks a lot Steve
