Even if they don't enforce, I want to do whatever would keep our legal department happy (If I ask them though, it will take a year to hear an answer.) We're actually in a non-profit, state university, so not commercial, and I'm moving to another department in the university. Work paid for it (and that process sucked, as they had to get it from CDW-G as they take a PO and getting the license code itself was a pain.) so it's not mine.

I'm leaving my current position, and I'm training my replacement. I am wondering if the license for VMWare Fusion Pro is tied to me or the computer? If it's tied to the computer, then my replacement can just start using it as the computer it on is staying put for him to use. If it's tied to me, or both me and the computer, then I'll have to either buy or stop using Fusion. Is this something I can pass the computer with the license installed on to him, so does it stay with me? Looking at the Common EULA for VMWare talks about transfers, but doesn't seem to answer the question from me reading it. Even looking at the section that is supposed to be for Fusion makes my head spin some more. If I'm missing something, please quote a page number or something I can use to refer to. If this is somewhere else, just let me know, and I'll pass on the results.

I left it (12.0.1 guest) running with the crashes over the weekend. Sometimes it boots, and sometimes it crashes. It's also not stable when it does actually boot. Can anyone from VMWare confirm if Monterey will be a supported Guest OS at some point (now that it's fully released) on Big Sur (or any specific host OS)?
I'm having that issue with the 12.0.1 release version. It sounds like I'm not unique with the crash though.

@gringley's tip worked for installing, but on first boot of the full Monterey the guest crashes before I can select the Country for making a new user. Has anyone gotten past that step, and any tips? I'm hosting on a Trashcan with 32G running Big Sur 11.16.1, Fusion 12.2.1 Oddly enough, I can get the same machine to run Monterey as a guest with VirtualBox. I'd expected that it would be the other way around.

For some reason, Fusion now (Version 11.15.1) does not want to open the .vmdk created in this manner. I can open other .vmdks, but not this one. Plot Boot Manager doesn't work either. It boots, but does not find the disk when you select to start off of the USB port. Anyone have an updated solution? This would be really nice for testing.
