I just upgraded my Macbook Pro 15 " 2019 Intel chip to a Macbook Pro 2023 16" Apple M2 Max Chip.running Sonoma. That is when I discovered that my 12.5 Fusion Windows VM would not work anymore. So I installed 13.5 and Windows 11 and it seems to be running fine. I have several Windows VMs (2012 Server, Windows 10, Windows 7, XP, etc.) sitting there compatible only with the Intel chip. My question is: will there ever be any way tools available to migrate my existing 12.5 Windows VMs Intel-based to 13.5 Apple Silicon ? Or is this not possible? Am I stuck not being able to run those VMs anymore on my new Macbook ? JM

To all parties interested. I have resolved the USB issue with assistance from technical support over email. The main reason why USB was not recognised is because "vmware-usbArbitrator" service was not running. With VMWare Fusion running (but not the VM) : check in Activity Monitor for process vmware-usbArbitrator . If the task is not there, then that is the cause of the problem. To resolve I followed these steps: 1. Manually uninstall Fusion. The link for the steps are - https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1017838 2. Enable root account in MacOS. Link to enable root account in Mac - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012 3. Download VMware Fusion again and install using root login account. Also, click on Security and Privacy and under General tab check for any message to click on “Allow or Open” for VMware Fusion and check for USB devices. JM

Hi Wila, I managed to resolve this. After a while of resuming (5 minutes or so) I got a message which I did not note down but sounded like "cannot connect to any peers?". I was able to close VmWare. Then, I rebooted my Mac and was able to resume the VM after the boot. Thanks JM
