Hi All I have not seen this listed yet so i thought i would see if anyone else has experienced this issu I run openSUSE on my office machine. ever since, approximately Vmware Workstation 10 came out, i have had crazy speed issues with my guest machines, also some slow repsonse times on my openSUSE host environment. I have narrowed it down to the following scenario: If i have Google Chrome running on the openSUSE host and the virtual guest is running hardware version greater than "8" then both the host becomes a little unresponsive and the virtual machine becomes extremely unresponsive. it is at its worst when i click the focus in and out of the virtual environment. I can correct this issue by either: closing all sessions of Google Chrome on the host or shutting down the virtual machine. Alternatively, if i modify the VMX file and change the hardware version to "8", the problem is removed completely. The current specs of my machine are: Dell Precision T3600 6 Core Intel Xeon E5-1650 32GB RAM 2TB Samsung SSD So the physical machine is nowhere near being fully utilised. This has continued to be an issue since openSUSE 12.x, 13.x and now on 42.1 It has happened since i think VMware Workstation 9, 10, 11 and now 12. Any thoughts? Regards, Leon Hewitt

Hi All, i have been having the same problem and seem to have narrowed it down to a few factors. 1. Problem occurs on openSuSE 13.x and 42.1 2. Problem began after upgrading VMware workstation to 12.x What i have also found is that it only happens when i run Guests with v12 hardware and have Google Chrome running on the host at the same time. If i change my guests back to v10 hardware the problem goes away. Alternatively if i close Google Chrome the problem also goes away. Does this pattern match anyone else? Regards, Leon.
