I think most people still are wondering on upgrade from Vi3 to vSphere4. vSphere is on production state for around 6 months, already have an update, a good documentation and I think that a good amount of posts here con communities, what shows that more and more people are using it and having just the "always happen" problems. In my opinion, you can switch the key now. Who still are waiting to do that can do it with no fear. I think the only feature that is not so well implemented is the VDR, which demands some configurations and tunnings and, again, in my opinion, is not meant to backup from medium to big environments. Although VCB is not the same thing, is still the best way of doing backups (without talking about all advantages of using it). Distributed switches, host profiles, thin disk provisioning, FT, Win2008 MSCS support are just some of the new possibilities. And have been proven to be stable. Upgrade your virtual environment too!
