I also did not hear any sound.  I am a long time user of the Browser Appliance and wished to upgrade to the latest release, so I spent some time comparing the setup to the previous release (Firefox ESR 24.0, CentOS 6.4). It seems to me that the ALSA volumes in the latest release (Firefox ESR 38.3, CentOS 7.1) are set too low. You can see the volume settings if you type the following in a command-line interface terminal:     alsamixer --card 0 Press the <Esc> key to return to the command-line interface terminal. To set the volumes to their maximum (which was the setting in the previous Browser Appliance) type the following  in a command-line interface terminal:     amixer -c 0 sset 'Master' 100%,100%     amixer -c 0 sset 'PCM' 100%,100% Type “exit” (without the quotation marks) to close the terminal. Use the Alsamixer command again to verify the change. That “turned the sound on” for me, so I hope it helps others as well. I’m a big fan of the Browser Appliance, using it on a daily basis for Safe Surfing.
Hello csmith34‌, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately our customer decommissioned VDP appliance months ago. Thanks.

I have been using the same UDA since 4.X and it still deploys ESXi 6.X, even vendor-customized ISOs today! What a great tool for the vSphere environment that provides a simple, elegant alternative to some of the VMware-branded alternatives! After your DHCP Server is set correctly, then here are the settings you will need: Kernel: [OS].[FLAVOR].mboot.c32 Kernel option command-line: -c /pxelinux.cfg/templates/[TEMPLATE]/[SUBTEMPLATE].cfg Kickstart File: accepteula rootpw P@ssw0rd install --firstdisk --overwritevmfs network --bootproto=dhcp --addvmportgroup=1 reboot

Has anyone succeeded in installing ESXi 5.1 using UDA on a UEFI booted host? I have a test system, which is stuck at "trying to load: pxelinux: <some filename> I'm not that savvy in Linux, just installed UDA, made a template, made a subtemplate, like the Mike's admin guide suggest. I also tried to use the 01-<mac> approach, when it finds the file, it gets stuck at that file. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Spam Titan is good to use. and I'm so glad that the ocr technology is available now, i like this feature.

ah, the interface may not say it but 5 and 6 are boot-compatible. 6 works perfectly with the current version of Eda
Brugh do you have any plans to support ESXi 6.0 with the appliance

FreeNATS will do that for you and is available as a pre-built appliance. The current production one is pretty old based on rPath but there's also a new one up for testing at the moment. The main site is: http://www.purplepixie.org/freenats/ which has links to download the current version. Any problems with that you can try the new trial at: http://www.purplepixie.org/freenats/wiki/Virtual_Appliance_6_Trial Good luck, Dave.

If you hit the 'import pxe files' from the main screen of the EDA it should fix this automatically. EDA uses the bootfiles from the original media and just changed the source path. if that fails for some reason, you can manually change /var/www/tftpboot/boot.cfg but keep in mind that will be overwritten once you hit the import button again.

I have a problem using eda with fujitsu 5.5 u2 image. At the end of the installation I get this error: /tardisks on the server: I think it is a problem with upper and lower case letters. This script looks for "FTS_Conf.v00", but the file in /tardisks is named "fts_conf.v00". Any ideas where the filename ist defined?

Thank you.  I realize it is possible to export an ova from vCenter - my question was around why I would choose to do it that way vs using VMware studio or another method.... For example I know VMware studio creates a VAMI for your applaince, which just exporting from vCenter doesn't.  It also creates CIM providers, which I'm not sure if an export from vCenter does.  What else differentiates the process of just exporting from vCenter from other methods which may add more functionaility or maintainability to the appliance?
