Yes - what happened was I somehow followed a link to an older version of the Tech Preview.  That set in motion a chain of events leading to a 90-minute rabbit hole and 3 posts to this forum, sorry.

I just completely uninstalled everything including the VM and am trying again with the right version of the Tech Preview.  Thanks for the help!

BTW- even after uninstalling everything, following the instructions to completely remove VMWare, I now have a sort of glitched-out login screen on my Mac, where the background only appears on part of the screen.  Have you seen this before?  

Boy it makes a big difference when you start with the right file, lol.  It was smooth sailing and the setup guides worked perfectly, thanks!I would delete those forums posts I made about my issues with the v13 - but doesn't seem like the forum allows posts to be deleted.
