VM ware wifi connection

So not sure whats happening, I am using VM ware for kali linux but I am not able to connect to the wifi, I use my desktop and the only way thats connected to the wifi is through the USB wifi adapter and thats for my pc itself, no ethernet what so ever however I am not able to connect to the wifi in kali linux no matter what, can someone help me?

Presumably you mean either the Workstation Player or Workstation Pro product when you say VMware?

Did you passthrough the USB Wifi adapter to your VM? Or share the network with the VM?
That should allow you to just use it in your Kali VM.
