I am a big fan of VMware Infrastructure 3: Advanced Technical Design Guide and Advanced Operations Guide by Ron Oglesby, Scott Herold and Mike Laverick - (http://www.amazon.com/VMware-Infrastructure-Advanced-Technical-Operations/dp/0971151083/ref=sr_1_1/105-0545071-0206810?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224637275&sr=1-1) It is my go to reference -

Thanks Chris
Do you think it would be more beneficial reading VMware documentation and white papers? I found this Post on Yellow Bricks which has some great resources on it:

I'm thinking they might be a bit more up to date?

Thats a good ammount of reading that Duncan suggests. They are also free ![]()
I'm not a huge fan of reading just PDF's personally , but they would certinaly help. The ATDG and Ed's books both cover some handy "real world" situations , so in that respect complement the whitepapers well.

I know the feeling - there's a lot to read and not enough hours in the day to do it!
A good delay at an airport usually does wonders for my reading quota
